Learn how to start playing The Universim with this comprehensive guide. Covers tutorial, mother planet, epicenter placement, and essential early-game construction like wells, farms, and hospitals.
This article serves as a short guide on how to start playing The Universim and outlines the best steps to take to create a thriving civilization. It's important to note that there is no single correct way to play the game.
Introduction
The Tutorial
At the very beginning, the game offers a tutorial on camera navigation, basic controls, and your initial goal.
The Mother Planet
The starting world, the Mother Planet, is randomly generated each game. It features characteristics similar to Earth, including water, greenery, seasons, and skies. This is where you will build your civilization.
The Epicenter
The first building you place is the Epicenter, which is central to your civilization. Upon building it, it will create four Nuggets (two adults, two children). It's strongly suggested to place the Epicenter near water, a forest, and loose rocks for immediate resource access, minimizing travel time for your Nuggets.
Construction
Water
With your first four Nuggets, command the adults to gather resources. Build a Well from the Buildings menu (Epicenter category) to establish a fresh water supply. Place it near a good water source, indicated by floating numbers. While the well is being built, plan for using nearby water bodies for Water Pumps or Fisher Piers. Most buildings require a Water Pump to operate.
Food
After the Water Pump is complete, plan for food. You can choose between fishing or building Farms. If using farms, an additional water pump might be needed for crops. Different crops have varying growth requirements and yields. It's suggested to use the crop that requires the least amount of water.
Maintenance
As your adult population grows, build an Engineer's Hut to allow for building repairs, preventing collapse and resource loss. Consider building a Hospital or a Cemetery to manage injured and deceased Nuggets, preventing mass illness and rapid population decline.
Accessories
You can now build an Eatery to convert raw food into prepared meals or a Forecast Tower for better insight into future temperatures and seasonal changes.
Repeat
As your civilization grows, add more of the same buildings (water pumps, farms, etc.) to meet increasing demands. The game's nugget population cap will be removed as development progresses.
