Throughout the Great Sea, hidden away on various islands, are mystical Fairy Fountains. These sacred groves are home to the Great Fairies, benevolent beings who, for a small offering (or sometimes just for finding them!), will bestow upon Link invaluable upgrades to his carrying capacity for Rupees, Bombs, and Arrows. Seeking out these fountains is crucial for any adventurer looking to maximize their potential and overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

Understanding Great Fairy Upgrades

There are a total of six Great Fairies scattered across the Great Sea, each offering a specific upgrade. these upgrades are cumulative and stack, meaning you'll want to find all of them to reach the maximum carrying capacity for each item. The upgrades are as follows:

• Rupee Bag Upgrade: Increases your maximum Rupee capacity. There are two such upgrades, taking you from 200 to 1,000, and then to a whopping 5,000 Rupees.
• Bomb Bag Upgrade: Increases your maximum Bomb capacity. Two upgrades are available, boosting your capacity from 30 to 60, and finally to 99 Bombs.
• Quiver Upgrade: Increases your maximum Arrow capacity. Like Bombs, two upgrades exist, increasing your capacity from 30 to 60, and then to 99 Arrows.

Some Great Fairies will require a small offering of Rupees to grant their blessing, while others will simply reward you for discovering their hidden abode. Be prepared to part with some of your hard-earned cash for these essential enhancements!

Great Fairy Locations & Walkthrough

Here's a detailed guide to finding each Great Fairy and claiming their valuable upgrades:

1. Northern Fairy Island (Rupee Bag Upgrade #1)
   • Location: Directly north of Outset Island. You'll spot a large, circular island with a distinctive rock formation.
   • Requirements: None.
   • Walkthrough: Sail to Northern Fairy Island. You'll see a small cave entrance on the island. Enter the cave, and you'll find the Great Fairy. She will immediately upgrade your Rupee Bag capacity to 1,000 Rupees. This is often the first upgrade players acquire.
2. Eastern Fairy Island (Bomb Bag Upgrade #1)
   • Location: East of Dragon Roost Island. Another circular island, easily identifiable.
   • Requirements: Bombs (to clear the entrance).
   • Walkthrough: Head to Eastern Fairy Island. Look for a large, cracked boulder blocking a cave entrance. Use a Bomb to destroy the boulder. Inside, the Great Fairy awaits and will upgrade your Bomb Bag capacity to 60 Bombs.
3. Western Fairy Island (Quiver Upgrade #1)
   • Location: West of Forest Haven. Similar to the other Fairy Islands in appearance.
   • Requirements: Bombs (to clear the entrance).
   • Walkthrough: Sail to Western Fairy Island. Just like Eastern Fairy Island, you'll need to use a Bomb to clear a cracked boulder blocking the cave entrance. Once inside, the Great Fairy will increase your Quiver capacity to 60 Arrows.
4. Southern Fairy Island (Rupee Bag Upgrade #2)
   • Location: South of Two-Eye Reef. This island is also circular and stands out.
   • Requirements: 100 Rupees.
   • Walkthrough: Upon reaching Southern Fairy Island, enter the cave. This Great Fairy will demand a payment of 100 Rupees for her blessing. Pay her, and she will upgrade your Rupee Bag to its maximum capacity of 5,000 Rupees.
5. Mother & Child Isles (Bomb Bag Upgrade #2 & Quiver Upgrade #2)
   • Location: Southwest of the Tower of the Gods. This unique location consists of two small islands.
   • Requirements: Ballad of Gales (to reach the island), 200 Rupees (for each upgrade).
   • Walkthrough: This is a special location as it houses two Great Fairies! Use the Ballad of Gales to warp to Mother & Child Isles. You'll find a cave entrance on the larger of the two islands. Inside, you'll encounter two Great Fairies. Each will offer an upgrade for 200 Rupees. One will upgrade your Bomb Bag to 99 Bombs, and the other will upgrade your Quiver to 99 Arrows. have 400 Rupees total if you want both upgrades immediately!
