Walkthrough
- 1Upon entering the dungeon on 2F, you will see blue blocks and a red Crystal Switch. Strike the Crystal Switch to change it to blue, which lowers the blue blocks and raises orange blocks.
- 2Take the west stairs down to 1F. Defeat the two Red Stalfos, being mindful of their bone projectiles. Use spin attacks for efficiency. Defeat the Mini-Moldorm trapped by orange blocks using a spin attack, or lower the blocks by hitting the Crystal Switch and retrieve the Small Key.
- 3Return to the 2F entry room. Ensure orange blocks are raised. Hit the nearest Crystal Switch to lower orange blocks and proceed north.
- 4Take out the Mini-Moldorm and the two Kodongos (fire-breathing dinosaur-like enemies) by hitting them once. Open the chest on the raised dais to get the Map.
- 5Use your Small Key to unlock the northwest door and go downstairs.
- 6As you enter the next room on B1F, floor tiles will rise and fly toward you. Slash with your sword from a corner to defend yourself until they are gone. The east door will open; ensure blue blocks are lowered to proceed.
- 7In the next room, defeat the Mini-Moldorm in the open, and use spin attacks on the other two trapped by orange blocks. Hit the Crystal Switch to lower the blocks and head south.
- 8Defeat the two Red Stalfos. Light all four torches with your Lamp to make a chest appear containing the Big Key. One pot contains a small Magic Decanter, and the other a large Magic Decanter which refills your entire Magic Meter.
- 9Retrace your steps to the 2F entry room. Lower the orange blocks (if necessary) and take the east stairwell up to 3F.
- 10In the room on 3F, defeat the three Blue Hardhat Beetles. Be careful of holes in the floor; you will land on the floor below if you fall. Consider knocking them into pits. The west door will open.
- 11In the next room, use the two Star Switches. Stepping on one lowers some holes and raises others, and vice versa. Use these to maneuver and potentially drop the three pursuing Hardhat Beetles into holes. Activate the appropriate Star Switch based on the colored blocks (controlled by the Crystal Switch in the previous room) and use your Big Key to unlock the north door.
- 12In the next room, use Star Switches or your sword to fend off Hardhat Beetles as you move east. Ensure blue blocks are raised (Crystal Switch is red) before taking the stairs up to 4F.
- 13On 4F, use pots to defeat the two Mini-Moldorms. Go west, and throw a pot at the Mini-Moldorm to the south. Open the chest in the center of the room to get the Compass.
Tips
- Crystal Switches change the state of blue and orange blocks. Hit them with any weapon to toggle their color and affect block placement.
- Red Stalfos dodge sword swings and throw bones. Spin attacks are effective.
- Kodongos are small, dinosaur-like enemies that breathe fire. They are defeated in one hit.
- Blue Hardhat Beetles are tough and can knock you back. Knocking them into pits is an alternative to fighting them directly.
- Star Switches alter the floor by creating and removing holes.
- The Magic Mirror can be used inside a dungeon to return to the entrance, but you will need to find your way back to your previous location.
- Pots in this dungeon can contain Magic Decanters or can be used as projectiles.
