In Chapter 2 of Tactics Ogre: Reborn, you can now purchase new weapon types: Phlanka (Axes), Heavy (Hammers), Great (Bows), and Power (Gauntlets).

It is recommended to buy 3 Power Gauntlets to replace Tower Shields for Denim, your Berzerker, and Voltel. These gauntlets offer higher defense than Tower Shields, despite the source noting they do not actually boost Strength as intended.

Consider purchasing Cure+ and Magi+ items, though they are not essential. New magic spells are also available, primarily supplemental.

If your Wizard or Ghost unit possesses the Wind Element, you can acquire the Thunder spell. Other elements do not grant access to a more powerful spell.

Acquire the LightBow spell for Presance, but not for Kachua. This spell can deal over 30 damage, though its effectiveness is limited by obstacles and requires a direct line of sight to the enemy. Use it on terrain matching Presance's Element for increased damage.

Archers equipped with a Great Bow deal an additional four points of damage to high-defense characters compared to those using a Short Bow and Gauntlet, who gain +10 Physical Resistance. For Archers with a Great Bow, equip a Leather Hat to replace a lost Tower Shield.

For Canopus, consider the choice between a Spear and a Heavy Hammer. The Heavy Hammer is his 'preferred' weapon type, granting an attack boost of +9 (though it may display as +6) and improved accuracy, especially when attacking from the front. A Power Gauntlet can also be equipped for a +10 defense boost. Alternatively, a Spear allows for multi-target attacks or avoiding counter-attacks, and Canopus's 'Attack' stat is already high. If you are new to Tactics Ogre: Reborn, the Hammer and Gauntlet combination is suggested for safety.

Berzerker: Equip Phlanka, Power Gauntlet, Leather Armour, and Battle Boots.

Wizard: Replace one Cedar Staff with a Clear Staff. This staff grants access to the 'Vitalize' ability with unlimited usage, providing a small INT/MEN boost. Vitalize can only be cast on adjacent units.

Archer: Equip a Great Bow, Leather Armour/Hat, and Battle Boots.

Cleric: No changes recommended.

Canopus: No changes recommended, but consider the Spear vs. Heavy Hammer decision.

Ghost: Replace one Cedar Staff with a Life Staff. This staff heals 50 HP with unlimited usage and works on Undead units. It provides a fourth, albeit less ranged, healing option.

Presance: Equip the new LightBow spell.

Sara (Archer): Equip a Great Bow, Leather Armour/Hat, and Battle Boots.

Voltel (Knight): Swap Tower Shield for a Power Gauntlet. It is advised to hold off on changing Voltel to a Ninja if you are new to Tactics Ogre: Reborn.
