Tactics Ogre: Reborn Zodo Marsh walkthrough for Battle 09. Learn how to get Chain Armour and defeat enemies before the mission ends.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head toward the route Vice is closest to, as enemies will come from that direction.
  2. 2
Block off Vice's easy access to a Gryphon.
  3. 3
Focus on defeating the other human foes and Lizard Men.
  4. 4
Heal Ganb and his Gryphons if required, especially if they are close to 20% HP.
  5. 5
The battle ends instantly if you get the boss (Ganb) or his two Gryphons down to 20% HP. You can still defeat Ganb and get good experience (EXP) if you injure him close to that mark but do not finish him off.
  6. 6
To maximize EXP, treasure, and Stat Card gains, prioritize wiping out other human foes and Lizard Men while healing Ganb and his Gryphons.
  7. 7
Once past the starting position, enemies will be closer; begin defeating them quickly.
  8. 8
Do not worry about finishing off a level 7 enemy with a level 7 character if the opportunity arises; you can use Training battles later to level up remaining characters.
  9. 9
Avoid wasting turns except for picking up Stat Cards.
  10. 10
Archers and magic-users are helpful from a distance, while fighters should move closer for direct combat, throwing stones when no other actions are available.
  11. 11
Heal the Gryphons when none of your own people are injured worse than 20+ HP.
  12. 12
Be aware of lethal counters when Gryphons attack stronger team members, which can end the mission instantly if they get hurt badly enough.
  13. 13
Ganb hits hard, dealing 40+ HP damage to a strong Berzerker.
  14. 14
If you cannot kill all other foes before a Gryphon is killed or close to ending the battle, you will only miss out on a Stat Card or two.
Tips
  • You may wish to remove Vice's weapon to lessen the damage he can inflict on the Gryphons.
  • The terrain will slow your units down, except for Canopus and your Ghost.
  • The Witch in this level has a much higher success rate than the one in Krizar City; Kachua will assist you, especially if you gave her Vitalize.
  • There is only one piece of equipment worth aiming for: Chain Armour, which one of the Lizard Men should possess.
  • You cannot steal Ganb's whip.
  • Your human foes are all level 7, while other enemies are level 6.
  • At least half of your party should be level 7 by now. Consider a quick Training battle after this mission to catch up any remaining characters.
