Learn how to recruit Sisteena, Forcas, and Byan in Tactics Ogre: Reborn by choosing the correct dialogue option at Fort Bodo. Details on their stats and optimal equipment.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
At Fort Bodo, you will be prompted with two dialogue choices while speaking to Sisteena.
  2. 2
Select '1. Join us' to permanently recruit Sisteena, Byan, and Forcas. Choosing any other option will result in missing out on these three characters.
  3. 3
These recruits offer superior stats and non-generic status, necessitating adjustments to your battle party by replacing generic units.

Character Analysis & Replacements:

  • Sisteena (Cleric): While likely having lower stats than Aloser at level 13, she excels as a Cleric. She cannot become a Priest, but your existing Cleric can fulfill that role later. Her stats generally include 30+ HP, 20+ Physical Resistance, 10+ Magical Resistance, 30+ Attack, 20+ AGI (with 20 less Weight), and 25+ DEX. Her INT/Magic rating may be about 5 points lower, but her increased HP and defenses allow her to survive an extra attack and potentially dodge blows. She pairs well with a Wind Ring due to her Wind Element.
  • Forcas (Berzerker): Forcas is a superior Berzerker compared to a generic unit, with his 'Neutral' Alignment being the only potential downside. He can eventually become a Dragoon, while Denim could be a Terror Knight and your Ninja a Sword Master. His stats typically include 25+ HP, 20+ Attack (direct and indirect), comparable or slightly better defenses, 10+ AGI (resulting in 10 less Weight), nearly 20+ DEX, and a bonus 53 LUK.
  • Byan (Wizard): Replacing a generic Wizard with Byan is recommended over keeping a Ghost unit, as Ghosts are more useful for distracting enemies and can move freely, replenishing HP with a Life Staff. Byan's stats generally show 10+ HP, 30+ Magic (attack/heal rating), similar defenses, 10+ AGI (10 less Weight), and 15+ DEX. His significant INT gain boosts his Magic rating to 211, allowing basic attack spells to hit up to 13 squares under optimal weather conditions. Meteor spells still affect a fixed five spaces.

Recommended Equipment:

  • Sisteena: Cedar Staff x2, Wind Ring, Battle Boots.
  • Forcas: Phlanka, Crossbow, Fire Orb (preferred), Battle Boots.
  • Byan: Clear Staff, Cedar Staff, Undead Ring, Battle Boots.

Afterward & Buried Treasure:

  • Rare and special Buried Treasure can be found at Fort Bodo immediately after recruitment.
  • Look for special 'Charm' necklaces, which are not available for purchase elsewhere.
  • You can also find consumable items (Steak/Chicken/Burger/OctoBall) that permanently increase STR/VIT/INT/MEN by 10 when used in battle or Training.
  • Team Blue ('A'): If using Presance (low-LUK) and a generic Wizard (with FireBurn), aim for 'Chicken' to boost Byan's Vitality. This can bring his Physical Resistance close to 100.
  • Team Red ('B'): If using a Ghost (with LUK between 43-56), aim for 'VanCharm'. This necklace slightly increases attack power (+5~) and Mentality, and can be equipped on characters like Sara. A VanCharm can also summon the Wind Goddess Hahnela, boosting Wind-Element allies and weakening Earth-Element enemies.
