Tactics Ogre: Reborn Krizar City battle strategy. Warning: Do not let Denim reach level 11 without three Orbs.
Walkthrough
- 1Warning: Do not let Denim reach level 11 during this battle unless you possess three Orbs. Monitor his experience points (EXP) and avoid having him defeat level 11 enemies. Aim for five of your characters to reach level 11 by the end of the mission. If you have followed the guide, you should have at least three Orbs and can ignore this warning.
- 2Lineup: Back Row: Sara (S), Presance (P), Ghost (G), Cleric (C), Denim (D). Front Row: Aloser (A), Berzerker (B), Wizard (W), Voltel (V), Canopus.
- 3Enemy Composition: You face a Wizard and seven Knights. Half of the enemies (4) are level 11, and the rest are level 10. All Knights have Cure+ items (which recover 100 HP), excluding the Wizard.
- 4Initial Strategy: Move everyone straight ahead. Canopus can move onto the grass area near the Knight with the Crossbow to use WindShot. Your Archer cannot reach this Knight, so target the other Knight instead. Other characters can use basic attacks like throwing stones. Your Ninja (Voltel) can use magic on the closer Knight.
- 5Targeting Key Enemies: One of the two Knights closest to you wields a Crossbow (a guaranteed drop if you need one). Injure him by 50+ HP to make him retreat and heal. Two level 10 Knights at the rear possess Slender Spears; consider acquiring one for Canopus or your Valkyrie. A third level 10 Knight also drops a Crossbow.
- 6Dealing with Ganashe: The leader, Ganashe, will be near you before your second turn. Injuring him to under 80 HP will cause him to use his Cure+ item and retreat. Canopus can attack Ganashe from the roof with his Spear.
- 7Positioning and Area of Effect: Avoid clustering your troops due to the enemy Wizard. Watch out for the Slender Spear-wielders who can hit two characters at once, though they often prefer attacking from a distance to avoid counter-attacks.
- 8Utilizing Magic and Debuffs: When your Ninja has a turn, use magic on any enemy with less than 30 HP, as your Wizard can easily finish them with Area-of-Effect spells. Your Ghost can distract the enemy Wizard.
- 9Finishing Blows: Choose characters for the final blow on level 11 enemies wisely; a character needing only 20 EXP to level up is a wasted opportunity. It is difficult to obtain a Slender Spear as dropped treasure, so consider using the Persuade command on a wounded Knight.
- 10Post-Battle Training: After the battle, conduct a mock Training battle. Use Denim on Team Blue, and your Wizard, Canopus, and Ninja (or Denim if Ninja's LUK is below 57) on Team Red. This is to acquire more Buried Treasure. Aim for treasure locations 'A' and 'B', seeking an Orb you lack or a Blessing/Escape item. Treasure 'B' does not need to be burned, but 'A' does.
Tips
- Give Aloser two Luck Cards if you acquire them, raising her LUK to 57 for effective water-treading.
- If you Persuaded a Knight for his Slender Spear or obtained it as treasure, equip it.
- Kachua should be approximately halfway to level 10 after this battle.
