Detailed walkthrough for Tactics Ogre: Reborn battles 35 (West Fiduc) and 36 (Fiduc Castle), including enemy strategies, item locations, and optimal character positioning.

Walkthrough: Battle 35 - West Fiduc

  1. Pre-Mission Advice: Be mindful of unique gear dropped by enemies; avoid letting foes stand on them. The West route yields the 'Light' Bow, while the South route is for Buried Treasure. Enemies are level 23, leader Mercury (Sword Master) is level 24.
  2. Lineup: Back Row: Presance, Byan, Ghost, Sisteena. Front Row: Canopus, Forcas, Denim, Harborym, Sara, Aloser.
  3. Strategy: Advance most characters on turn 1, with Canopus moving only five squares. Focus fire on the Terror Knight with Canopus, Byan, Ghost, and Aloser. Sisteena's Heal+ can recover from Dragon Tamer AoE magic. Beware of the Black Dragon's Charm ability.
  4. Reinforcements & Treasure: After clearing nearby troops, new enemies will spawn one per turn, mostly on the upper rampart. Buried Treasure locations 'A' and 'B' can be found. It may be easier to collect these in a later Training battle.
  5. Enemy Mages: The Wizard/Siren can deal significant damage with multi-hitting magic. Keep units out of their range. Sara can deal high damage from elevated positions.
  6. Leveling & MVP: Finish Mercury with Harborym to level him. Ensure another character (e.g., Canopus) gets 3-4 reinforcement kills for MVP and level 24. Consider spending more time killing reinforcements if characters are near level 24 (70+ EXP), using Sisteena and Presance as Mercury's punching bags for counterattacks and healing.
  7. Buried Treasure: 'A' - Chicken (Low-LUK; needs burning), 'B' - Chicken or Burger (Low-LUK), 'C' - Orb (High-LUK).

Walkthrough: Battle 36 - Fiduc Castle

  1. Pre-Mission Advice: Assign the 'Gnome' spell to Byan, replacing HealRain. Equip Canopus with 'Wing' Armor and Ghost with 'Aqua' Armor. Equip Sara with the Light Bow. Enemies are level 24.
  2. Persuasion: You can persuade a generic Priest here, but a Story character Priest is available after the next two battles.
  3. Lineup: Back Row: Denim, Harborym, Sisteena, Byan, Ghost. Front Row: Presance, Canopus, Forcas, Sara, Aloser.
  4. Strategy: On turn 1, advance Sisteena, Harborym, and Sara. Use Denim's counterattack, Canopus's Tornado, and Byan's Acid to defeat Oz. Ghost's magic and Aloser's attacks can target Templar Knights. Presance can Heal Denim, and Forcas can attack a Valkyrie.
  5. Positioning: Position Denim to flank or attack the Templar Knight from behind. Use Harborym's Heat spell on Aloser and move near Valkyries. Sara can attack injured Valkyries.
  6. Enemy Debuffs: Beware of the Witch's Stun spell, which may affect Denim and Sara.
  7. Finishing Blows: Use Canopus to finish off the last Templar Knight. Use Byan's Acid on the Valkyries. Ghost can use LifeSuck on a Valkyrie, and Aloser can finish her with the Balder Spear. Presance should Heal Harborym, and Sisteena can use Vitalize on Denim if needed.
Tips
  • Prioritize acquiring unique gear in Battle 35, even if it means delaying treasure collection.
  • In Battle 36, consider the effectiveness of 'Gnome' versus using Quick for healing, as suggested by the guide.
  • Elemental weaknesses and resistances are crucial; ensure your gear matches the situation (e.g., Aqua Armor for the Ghost).
  • Focus on leveling up characters, especially those near level 24, by strategically using reinforcement enemies and MVP awards.
  • Don't underestimate enemy mages; keep your units safe from their powerful spells.
