Upon meeting Carth, female characters can engage in a romance option. Carth will then bring up the battle of the Endar Spire, revealing that the Jedi requested your presence on the shuttle at the last minute. He expresses suspicion due to the convenient connection between you and the Jedi, stemming from personal trust issues he is reluctant to discuss.
Explore the apartment complex. From your apartment, go east to find a door with a footlocker containing loot. Continue along the circular walkway to another door. Inside, you'll find an Ithorian and a bag with items. The next door leads to the Upper City, but it's not time to go there yet. Continue to find another low-security door containing a Twilek and a bag of goodies.
A merchant will offer information about energy shields, but his prices are higher than others, so avoid purchasing from him.
Dia's Bounty
Speak with Dia to learn she has a bounty due to an altercation with Holdan, who made unwanted advances. If you are playing a Light Side character, you can agree to speak with Holdan in the lower city cantina. You will only gain Light Side points after speaking with Holdan. For Dark Side players, you can learn about the bounty, state your intention to collect it, and then kill Dia. Declaring your intent to rob the place will not yield Dark Side points.
The janitor is another character worth speaking to; he can provide information about the city and suggest the cantina for more details. This is your next destination. Exit the complex through the southernmost door into the Upper City South.

Rapid Transit System
A journal entry will explain the Rapid Transit System. You can use the map screen to transport back to your hideout by pressing X. Transit is unavailable in dangerous areas or during combat. Returning to your hideout instantly heals you and your party. You can then select to transit back from the map screen to your previous location. Use this feature now to become familiar with it.
Head south to find a door leading to Kebla's Shop. Light Side players should purchase a premacrete detonator here for a future quest. Both Light and Dark Side players should buy 4-5 frag grenades. You can sell unwanted items if you need credits. Continue south to reach the cantina.
Pazaak Rules
Talk to Garouk to purchase a Pazaak deck. Playing Pazaak is optional but can be enjoyable, and Garouk will teach you the rules. It is not essential to the storyline.
Note: Much later in the game, you will find a Pazaak deck for free in a footlocker. Other vendors on different worlds also sell Pazaak decks, with Garouk generally offering the lowest price.
