Follow our expert guide to conquer the 'My Last Boy' mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Get tips for Gold Medals, headshots, and saving Paytah.
Alright, partner, it's time to head back to Beaver Hollow and get this mission with Dutch rolling. Eagle Flies needs our help taking on the army at the oilfields, so make sure you've got a good rifle and a shotgun ready to go. This is gonna be a big one.
- 1
Start the Mission: Head back to Beaver Hollow and chat with Dutch. Eagle Flies is ready to strike the oilfields, and you'll join the rest of the gang. Gear up with a rifle and shotgun – you'll need 'em.
- 2
The Initial Assault: As you make your way down the hill towards the oilfields, start racking up those headshots. The Gold Medal requires 30, and while there are plenty of soldiers, your gang is there too. Use Dead Eye whenever you can to make sure each shot counts. Keep moving between cover, as there's no time limit, but remember you can't use any health items during this mission. Keep an eye out for snipers on the tower; they should be your first priority. After that, push towards the center of the area and get a headshot on the soldier fighting with Eagle Flies.
- 3
Pushing Deeper: Continue to take out soldiers, especially those on the walkway above. Again, Dead Eye is your best friend here, especially for enemies hiding behind railings. When you reach the open area, find cover behind some crates and use your radar to spot and eliminate enemies from all sides. Watch out for a soldier with a Gatling Gun – you'll need to use Dead Eye to take him down quickly before you can advance.
- 4
Saving Paytah: Things get up close and personal here. Switch to your shotgun to deal with the two soldiers directly in front of you. Then, look to your left. You'll see Paytah struggling with a soldier. You need to be fast and save him, or the mission will fail. Once Paytah is safe, push forward, taking out any soldiers hiding behind crates. Ignore the enemies coming from the hills on the left; instead, head right, get headshots on the remaining soldiers, and then link up with Dutch.
- 5
The Warehouse and Escape: Follow Dutch into the warehouse. Head upstairs to the office and search the medicine cupboard and wardrobe. Dutch will find the state bonds in a drawer. Head back downstairs with Dutch, and you'll face one last group of soldiers. Stay in cover, headshot them all, and then follow Dutch.
- 6
Final Ride: After the cutscene, you'll be in an automated Dead Eye sequence. Just pull the trigger and watch the action unfold. With the gang starting to fracture, all that's left is to ride back to Wapiti as fast as you can, with Eagle Flies' life hanging in the balance.
- For the Gold Medal, focus on landing headshots. Use Dead Eye liberally to maximize your accuracy and headshot count.
- Remember you cannot use any health items. Be mindful of your health and rely on cover.
- Prioritize the snipers and the Gatling Gunner – they pose the biggest threat.
- Saving Paytah is crucial. Don't hesitate when you see him in trouble.
- Gold Medal (if all objectives are met)
- Money and XP
