Follow our guide to complete the 'Help a Brother Out' Stranger Mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Learn how to find the captives, rescue them, and get a Honor boost.
Walkthrough
- 1You'll start this mission by talking to Brother Dorkins, likely after completing "The Joys of Civilization" in Saint Denis. He'll tell you about some troubling news regarding a nearby shop.
- 2Head over to the shop indicated on your map. Important: To get the Gold Medal, you must find the captives *without* threatening the store owner. So, just ignore him for now.
- 3Go to the bookshelf located to the left of the store owner. Inspect it to find some marks on the ground, indicating a hidden passage. Interact with the book on the shelf to open a secret door.
- 4Head downstairs where you'll find the captives. Quickly cut them free.
- 5Now, you need to dash back to Brother Dorkins as fast as you can. The mission is timed if you're aiming for the Gold Medal, so don't dawdle!
- 6Once you return to Brother Dorkins, you'll have a choice: take the payment for your troubles or leave it for the poor. Leaving the money will grant you a Honor boost, which is recommended.
Tips
- This mission is timed for the Gold Medal, with a requirement of completing it within 2 minutes and 45 seconds. Since it doesn't involve much shooting, you might want to replay it later to focus on speed and skip cutscenes.
- The mission is considered a Honor mission, so making the charitable choice at the end will benefit your Honor level.
- This mission is missable, so make sure to undertake it during Chapter 4.
- Honor boost (if you leave the payment for the poor)
- Completion of a required mission for Trophies/Achievements
