Find the nearby Deer track and activate it. Now, you'll want to get into a crouch (usually by pressing [Circle/B]) and start following those tracks. The key here, especially if you're aiming for that Gold Medal, is to not spook the deer. Move slowly and deliberately.

Keep following the tracks until you spot a Deer near the river. This is your moment! Draw your bow and take your time. Aim for the neck or the head for a clean kill. Doing this not only gives you a better quality pelt but also ensures the deer goes down in one shot, which is crucial for the Gold Medal.

Once that first deer is down, you'll need to pick up the tracks of another one. Repeat the whole process: crouch, track, and aim for a clean kill. A neat trick here is that you can actually call out to a deer (usually by pressing [Triangle/Y]) to make it lift its head, giving you a perfect shot at its noggin.

With both deer taken care of, pick up one of them. Then, press the [Up Dpad] button to call your horse over. If you've been bonding with your horse, you'll notice the whistle range increases, which is pretty handy. Stow the deer on your horse's back.

Now, meet up with Charles, and you'll start riding back to camp. Pay attention to what Charles says – he'll mention a bear on the path ahead. He'll guide you onto a side path to avoid it. Definitely stick with him on this; you don't want to run into a bear unprepared!
