This guide covers the single-player trophies and achievements for Red Dead Redemption 2. The ultimate goal is the 'Legend of the West' platinum trophy, which requires unlocking all other trophies. This includes achieving 100% in-game completion, earning 70 Gold Medals, and obtaining the 'Zoologist' and 'Skin Deep' trophies.

Story-Related Trophies

These trophies unlock as you progress through the main story missions, including the Epilogue.

Lending a Hand

To earn this trophy, you must complete all optional Honor story missions. These missions can appear with golden or white markers and are missable if not completed before progressing to the next chapter. Maintaining a positive honor level is crucial, as some missions may not appear otherwise. Actions that boost honor include doing chores around camp, releasing caught fish, greeting people, and helping those in trouble. Your honor level can be checked by pressing down on the D-Pad, and honor gains are indicated by a '+' icon on the right side of the screen.

Note that some of these missions are not added to the replay menu. While missed missions can be added to the replay menu, replaying them this way will not count towards the trophy; they must be played during the actual story progression.

Lending a Hand: Complete all optional Honor story missions. (30 points)

Gold Rush

This trophy requires earning a Gold Medal in at least 70 story missions. There are 104 story missions that offer Gold Medals, allowing you to skip some of the more difficult ones. A Gold Medal is awarded for completing all optional objectives within a mission in a single attempt. Objectives are revealed at the end of a mission on the first playthrough. You can replay missions via the Progress menu (Pause > Story > Mission). However, replaying missions from the menu can be challenging due to a nerfed character (poor horse, limited items/weapons), making certain objectives harder to achieve. It's often advisable to complete difficult Gold Medals on the first playthrough after looking up the objectives.

Missions with time limits or tight kill/headshot requirements can be particularly annoying on replays. Be aware that restarting from a checkpoint negates objectives related to not using health items. Epilogue missions are generally easier to achieve Gold Medals in.

Friends With Benefits

This trophy is MISSABLE. To obtain this trophy, you must complete at least one companion activity in each of the three main camp locations across Chapters 2, 3, and 4. It is recommended to keep a save file at the beginning of each chapter to ensure you can complete these activities.
