[5-8] Thunderbolt

Learn how to get the Thunderbolt weapon in Quake shareware using the Impulse 9 cheat.

The Thunderbolt weapon is available in the shareware version of Quake. To use it, type IMPULSE 9 in the console (a command-line interface for inputting special commands). This cheat also grants you all other weapons.

The Thunderbolt fires a jagged beam of white/blue energy that damages enemies in its path. It is effective against grunts and knights, and also helpful against larger monsters, though grenades may be preferred for them.

This weapon is particularly effective in deathmatch (a multiplayer mode where players fight each other). Combining the Thunderbolt with the Rocket Launcher allows for significant damage output.

Warning: Do not fire the Thunderbolt underwater, as it has a negative effect.
