[4-3-5] Brightness

Adjust Quake display brightness or use the gamma console command. Learn how to change settings without altering your monitor.

This setting allows you to adjust the brightness of the display within Quake. It is useful if you prefer not to alter your monitor's settings or if you need the display to be even brighter. However, turning the brightness to its highest level, along with your monitor's brightness, to see in dark areas is considered a less desirable tactic, as darkness can hide threats.

You can also adjust brightness using the 'gamma' console command. Refer to section [14-2] for information on how to use console commands.
