    After obtaining the Hive Badge, Professor Elm will call, instructing you to visit the Pokémon Center in Violet City. Speak to his aide next to the counter to receive a Pokémon Egg. Keep this Egg in your party; it will eventually hatch into a Togepi.

    If you bring the hatched Togepi to Professor Elm in New Bark Town, he will give you an Everstone, an item that prevents Pokémon from evolving.

    From Violet City, head south to reach Route 32.

    In the Route 32 Pokémon Center, heal your Pokémon and speak to the fisherman near the counter to obtain the Old Rod, which allows you to fish for Pokémon.
