- 1Zephyr Badge - Game Start-Up and New Bark Town: Begin your journey in New Bark Town, receive your starter Pokémon from Professor Elm, and head north to Route 29.
- 2Zephyr Badge - Meeting Mr. Pokemon: Travel east to Route 30, then north to Route 31. Follow the path to Cherrygrove City, then head north to Violet City.
- 3Zephyr Badge - Route 31 (and some side areas): Explore Route 31, encountering wild Pokémon and trainers.
- 4Zephyr Badge - Violet City, Sprout Tower, and The Gym: Challenge the Violet City Gym Leader, Falkner, to earn the Zephyr Badge. Explore Sprout Tower to find the HM05 (Flash).
- 5Hive Badge - To Azalea Town!: Depart Violet City and travel south on Route 32, then west on Route 33 towards Azalea Town.
- 6Hive Badge - Azaleas, Slowpokes, and A Gym: In Azalea Town, you'll encounter Team Rocket. Navigate through Ilex Forest to find Kurt and help with the Slowpoke. Challenge the Azalea Town Gym Leader, Bugsy, to earn the Hive Badge.
