Fog Badge - Ecruteak City: Where Past and Present Meet

Upon arriving in Ecruteak City, visit the Pokémon Center and the Poké Mart.

In the Pokémon Center, you will meet Bill, who will inform you that the Time Capsule will be available tomorrow, allowing trades between Pokémon Red/Blue/Green/Yellow and Pokémon Gold/Silver if no Generation II-exclusive moves are involved.

Bill will then return to his house in southwestern Goldenrod City. Visit him there to receive an Eevee, a versatile Pokémon that can evolve into five different types.

In the building west of the Poké Mart, you can battle the Kimono Girls on the stage. After defeating all five, speak to a man near the center of the floor to receive HM03 (Surf), a powerful Water-type move usable for crossing water.

In the house southwest of the Kimono Girls' building, a man will give you the Itemfinder, which sounds an alarm when a hidden item is on-screen.

Head to the northwestern part of town and enter the Burned Tower. It is advisable to heal your party beforehand.

Immediately upon entering the Burned Tower, you will be challenged by your rival, Silver.

Silver's party includes Haunter Lv. 20, Magnemite Lv. 18, Zubat Lv. 20, and one of Croconaw Lv. 22 (if your starter was Cyndaquil), Bayleef Lv. 22 (if your starter was Totodile), or Quilava Lv. 22 (if your starter was Chikorita). He will bet $1320.

After the battle in the Burned Tower, you will proceed to the Ecruteak City Gym to challenge Leader Morty.
