Follow our guide to complete the 'Task: Missing Scientists' mission in Mass Effect: Andromeda. We'll help you find the research vessel and get the data you need.
Alright, let's get this done. First things first, we need to head back to the Bridge. Once you're there, activate the Galaxy Map. You'll want to zoom out to the Heleus Cluster view – just press [Circle]/[B]. You'll see the systems you can travel to; right now, there are only four charted. We're going to scan them all soon enough, it's good XP and resources for the time you put in, but let's focus on the Eriksson system first. Select it and travel there.
Once you arrive in the Eriksson system, hold down [L2]/[LT] to start scanning. Keep an eye on your reticle for an arrow; follow it until you find an anomaly, then hit [R2]/[RT] to deploy a probe. This should lead you to some Starship Wreckage. Fly the Tempest in to get a closer look – sadly, the news about the scientists isn't good, but you can scan the wreckage to get 50 Remnant Research Data points.
Now, before you go off exploring every nook and cranny of the Eriksson system (which you totally should, by the way – it's free resources and XP!), let's get back to the Nexus. Head back to the Heleus Cluster view on the Galaxy Map and select the Zheng He system. Travel there, then select the Nexus and dock.
Back on the Nexus, you'll notice things are a bit more lively. There are new shops and maybe some DLC stuff to check out, but we'll save that for later. For now, make your way to the tram and ride it back to the Operations area. Find Doctor Aridana and talk to her. She won't mention the scientists you just found, but she does have a new task for you: "Task - The Model of the Spheres." Accept it, and then access the console to officially start it. Since you're already on the Nexus, why not take the opportunity to wrap up any other quests before heading back out?
