Guide to Half-Life Part 28: Learn how to launch the lambda satellite rocket, bypass laser traps, and navigate the military ambush and silo sections.
Walkthrough
- 1From the "BLAST DANGER" doors, make a difficult jump to a small ledge on the right. Climb to a higher ledge, then jump-crouch onto the window of the launch control room. Hit the launch button through the window.
- 2Go through the "BLAST DANGER" doors and down the hallway to a room with laser-alerted explosive packs guarding stairs. Push the smaller metal crate to the back of its side area, then jump-crouch onto it. Move to its left edge and jump-crouch onto the stairs' side rail to reach the top.
- 3Past the door, turn left and crouch-walk along the left wall to sneak-shoot two marines with the .357 Magnum. Check the first room for a first aid station.
- 4In the second room, use the big red button between the windows to launch the lambda satellite rocket.
- 5After the rocket launches, the door reopens. Go back to the big red doors and use the control panel nearest the closed doors to return to section c2a2g.
- 6In section c2a2g, turn left at the tracks to find a new area with a ladder. Climb down to a room with supplies and a new rail track. Break wooden crates and check the tops of the two largest green crates.
- 7Get on the ugly old rail car but do not start it. Jump-crouch onto its front end and crouch-walk forward and right to drop onto the ledge to the right of the track. Follow this ledge to reach the "Apprehension" chapter.
- 8In section c2a3, continue along the right-hand ledge. In the open area on the right, sneak-shoot three marines with the pistol.
- 9Grab their weapons, go through their door, and start down the ladder. Strafe right to fall into the water without hitting the crate. Bash the crate for shotgun shells, then push open the underwater door.
- 10Go down the corridor, through another door, and run up the stairs on the left to breathe. Check the floor past the stairs for an assault rifle clip.
- 11Go through the doorway and along the unbroken walkway. In the next room, use the assault rifle to kill the zombie under and on the stairs. Check under the stairs for bullet clips. Use the first aid station at the top of the stairs if needed, and bash the crate for an armor battery.
- 12Past the next doorway, go along the walkway to the right and bash the crate for a bullet clip. Go back to crouch-drop onto the large black-and-yellow-striped divider wall. Turn and move back to drop onto a crate, then bash it for an assault rifle clip.
- 13Jump over the railing, dive down, and quickly go for the underwater doorway to the right. Swim through the underwater passages, ignoring leeches, until you reach section c2a3a.
- 14In section c2a3a, continue swimming past a door on the right until rubble blocks the passage. Crouch-swim through the rubble.
- 15In the next bit of rubble, also crouch-swim. In the hallway beyond, surface to catch your breath.
- 16Dive down and bash the floor grating with the crowbar, then swim down through it. Take a right at the path intersection, then swim up and bash another grating.
- 17In the room beyond, surface for air. Dive and find AR grenades and crossbow ammo on the floor. Find the door with the big computer bank in front of it. Push the computer bank to knock it over, allowing passage.
Tips
- A shortcut exists to the launch control room by jumping to a ledge to the right of the "BLAST DANGER" doors and then to a window. You can hit the launch button through the window.
- When dealing with the laser-alerted explosive packs on the stairs, push the smaller crate to the back of its side area, then jump-crouch onto it. Move to its left edge and jump-crouch onto the stairs' side rail.
- For the marines past the launch control room, use the .357 Magnum and crouch-walk along the left wall to sneak-attack them.
- When encountering the three marines in section c2a3, you can either sneak-shoot them with the pistol or let them see you and lure them back along the ledge where they cannot fire at you.
- In the underwater sections, swim as fast as possible and ignore the leeches.
- When you encounter the rubble blocking the passage in section c2a3a, you will need to "crouch-swim" through it.
