This guide covers the Heavy Challenges at the Shooting Range in Grand Theft Auto V. These challenges require using a minigun to achieve high scores within time limits by hitting targets and maintaining a score multiplier.

One

This challenge features a single row of targets that respawn continuously. Your goal is to hit as many targets as possible to increase your score multiplier. Continuous hits are key to stacking points.

Use the minigun to sweep back and forth across the targets, keeping the bonuses stacking up. The minigun has 9999 bullets, allowing for sustained fire. To maximize your score and multiplier, avoid focusing fire on a single target. Instead, sweep horizontally across the yellow centers of the targets in one continuous motion. Successfully sweeping across three or more targets can earn 300 points per round hit.

Two

In this challenge, targets exit after multiple hits, and continuous hits increase your multiplier. You will face multiple sets of targets.

Sweep the minigun in bursts across each set of targets, stopping fire after the last target in a set has gone. Ensure the minigun is spinning and firing before the timer runs out to start immediately. Be careful not to spray bullets continuously between sets, as this will reset your bonus points, making it difficult to achieve Gold. Initially, there will be two sets of four targets that drop down in a row. Fire at them until the final one exits, then stop firing but keep the gun spinning. The next set will appear. Continue this pattern with subsequent sets, adjusting your position slightly with each set to avoid firing into gaps. Eventually, three sets of four targets will drop together, offering a significant opportunity to stack bonuses. Spray the first set in front of you, then move left for each subsequent stack. Finally, five targets will drop together spread across the range; spray bullets from side-to-side into these targets until time runs out.

Three

This challenge features infinite respawning targets that exit after multiple hits. Continuous hits increase your multiplier.

This is considered one of the easier challenges and is designed for fun. You will need to sweep vertically as well as horizontally because targets appear at different heights. They will continuously spawn, so unleash sustained fire. Sweep across the targets from right to left and left to right throughout the challenge to maintain a continuous stream of bonus points, making it easier to achieve Gold. Avoid hitting the edges of the target areas; aim for the center to prevent mistakes.
