Lady Masako Adachi

Guide yourself through 'The Tale of Lady Masako' mission in Ghost of Tsushima. Learn how to find clues, get the Samurai Clan Armor, and defeat bandits with Masako.

Alright, so you're ready to tackle The Tale of Lady Masako. Before you jump in, make sure you've finished The Warrior's Code and The Tale of Sensei Ishikawa, as this mission won't pop up otherwise. It's also a good idea to do some exploring beforehand – hitting up side missions, finding those Fox Dens, and clearing out places like Yoichi's Crossroads will give you better gear, Technique Points, and unlock fast travel points, making your journey much smoother.

Once you've got the mission marker, head over to the Adachi Estate. You'll run into three bandits right away, so take them out. Then, check out the building next to them. Look for a bloody clue on the floor and another on the window. After that, hop out the window, turn left, and examine the bloodstain and horse tracks near the stable.

Follow those tracks through the gate and down the hill. You'll find a dead Adachi Clan horse, and Lady Masako will show up. She'll tell you about her family being massacred – apparently, bandits, not Mongols, were responsible. She's out for revenge and, despite her age, she's a fierce warrior who'll be a great ally.

Ride with her to honor her family's dead, and then you'll head towards the Golden Temple. Masako wants you to talk to Sogen, an old caretaker, and then the armorer about her armor. She's being secretive about why she doesn't want to be seen in the temple, so she'll meet you on the other side.

Inside the temple, find Junshi, a monk, near the entrance. He'll point you toward Sogen, who's up on the temple deck. After that, track down the armorer. She'll give you the Samurai Clan Armor. This armor is pretty sweet – it cuts down damage, boosts your health a bit, and gives you 15% Resolve when you take hits. It's worth upgrading if you can! The first upgrade costs 250 Supplies and 10 Linen, making the damage reduction even better.

Now, head out the south gate and follow the Guiding Wind to Lady Masako. She suspects Sogen might be involved in the massacre. Follow her to an overlook where you'll see Sogen leaving the temple. He's spooked by your visit and is on the move. You'll need to tail him, staying hidden in the tall grass and using cover, as he'll occasionally stop to check if he's being followed. Keep this up until he reaches a homestead where he meets with other traitors.

Things are about to get intense. A big fight kicks off with a Standoff against about a dozen bandits. You'll be fighting alongside Lady Masako, so keep an eye on her health bar – she can get knocked out! This is a tough one, so mix up your swordplay with your kunai and arrows. Once the area is clear, loot everything, then follow Lady Masako inside. She'll confront Sogen upstairs, but he doesn't give her the answers she wants before she kills him. You'll need to search the next room for clues, finding a list with names: Sogen, Sadao, Mai, Kajiwara, and Omura.

Finally, talk to Lady Masako to wrap up the mission. You'll agree to an alliance, making her another ally. Don't forget to raid the place before you leave!
