Begin by ditching units level 5 and above (Lucius, Erk, Wil, Dorcas). Keep a core party: Serra, Nils, Matthew, Lyn, Wallace, Florina, and Sain/Kent. Rath stays benched; give him the Angelic Robe and Hammer. Equip Sain with an Iron Sword and Lance, and a vulnerary. Pass the Lancereaver from Lucius to Lyn.

Position Sain north, others in the middle with Wallace and Matthew near the front. Wallace will promote into a General.

Sain visits the eastern village to get the Torch and heads north with a Sword. Florina sits on the southern fortress to block enemy spawns.

Move Matthew onto the bridge to draw the nearby mercenary. Play to Wallace with Nils. Heal Wallace with Serra. Send Wallace forward with an Axe equipped, followed by Matthew. Lyn stays behind Matthew.

As fog of war begins, Florina stays put. Sain moves further north, then east. Move Matthew away from the injured mercenary and finish it with Wallace (using a lance). Heal Matthew with Serra. Play to Wallace with Nils and advance him. Lyn moves into the forest near the fortress.
