Hey there! Welcome to the guide for Final Fantasy III! This game first came out way back in 1990 in Japan for the Famicon (that's the original Nintendo Entertainment System, or NES, for most of us). It's often called the “lost Final Fantasy” because it took ages to get an international release. We finally got it in English on August 24th, 2006, with a remake for the Nintendo DS, and later it got a nice polish for Steam. Just so you know, all the screenshots you'll see in this guide are from the Steam version, but everything else is pretty much the same as the DS version, aside from some text differences.

Even though it's an older game, it's absolutely still worth playing! Here's a cool bit of trivia to share: Final Fantasy III is where some of the most iconic Final Fantasy stuff first showed up, like fat chocobos, Gysahl Greens, summon magic, those tricky terrain effects in battle, and, of course, the lovable Moogles!
