General Strategies
Discover essential World of Final Fantasy strategies for beginners! Learn about elemental weaknesses, stack management, mirage choices, and more to conquer your enemies.
Hey there! Since you've probably played a Final Fantasy game before, you'll pick up the basics of World of Final Fantasy pretty quickly. I'm not going to rehash the tutorial stuff, but let's go over some general strategies to help you out.
Generally, magic hits harder than physical attacks, so always try to exploit enemy elemental weaknesses. Thunder is a great element to focus on because tons of enemies are weak to it, and very few resist it. Fire and Water are also common weaknesses, but a lot of enemies are also resistant to them, so be careful. Light magic is rarely resisted, which is nice. Ice and Wind aren't super useful for specializing, and Earth magic is a bad idea since most enemies resist it and few are weak.
Beyond just hitting elemental weaknesses, you'll also want to be able to break enemy stacks. Enemies stacked three high can be really dangerous, and you can't even capture them until their stack is toppled. Basic attacks will eventually break them, but using attacks specifically designed to topple stacks will speed things up. Don't worry about making your main mirages stack-busters; you can carry six extra
Prologue - Awake At Last
Begin your journey in World of Final Fantasy! This guide covers the Prologue, your first battle, and your arrival in Grymoire.
Alright, so you've just finished up the opening cutscenes in World of Final Fantasy. Time to get moving! Head straight for the doors marked "North Promenade" and step on through.
Once you're through, look for a blue sign on the wall. Go into the place called "Nine Bean Coffee." Get ready for more story, and then your very first battle! Don't sweat this one, it's basically impossible to lose. You'll be controlling Lann and Tama. Just pick the 'Attack' command when it's your turn. If you want to do a little extra damage, feel free to use Tama's 'Foxfire' ability. Just a heads-up, you won't run into this specific enemy again for quite a while.
Here are the details on your first foe:
| Name | HP | F | I | T | A | W | E | L | D | Po | Co | Slp | Bl | Ob | Be | Slw | De | Imprism |
| Yurugu | 296 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | -25 | 0 | -50 | -25 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 50 | Unimprismable |
Tama is your very first mirage, which is pretty neat! She's okay to start with, but don't plan on keeping her around for the long haul. You won't even be able to evolve her into anything stronger until the very end of the game. After one more cutscene, you'll step through the portal into Grymoire, and that's when the real adventure begins!
Chapter 1 - Land of the Lilikin
Learn how Lann and Reynn start in Lilikin (small) form and how to change their size in World of Final Fantasy.
Lann and Reynn start the game in Lilikin (small) form. You can change them to their big form by pressing L1 and either circle or square. The same button combination will revert them back to their small Lilikin form.
At this point in the game, you cannot change your stack setup.
- Experiment with the L1 + circle/square combination to get a feel for switching sizes.
- Remember that your stack setup is fixed initially.
Wellspring Woods
A complete walkthrough for World of Final Fantasy's Wellspring Woods, including tips on imprisming, mirage board abilities, and finding all chests.
- 1Head up the path and fight the Chocochick. Use physical attacks, then the "Imprism" command to capture it.
- 2Place the Chocochick on top of Reyyn in your party stack.
- 3Continue up the path to find a Gimme Golem blocking the way. Examine it to learn it requires a Lusterleaf.
- 4Modify your mirages' mirage boards. Unlock the "Stroll" ability for the Chocochick. You can also unlock "Ram" or "Cure," or spend 4 SP on Tama's board.
- 5With "Stroll" unlocked, examine the bush below you. The Chocochick will reveal a LUSTERLEAF.
- 6Use the Lusterleaf to pass the Gimme Golem.
- 7Continue up the path. To your left is chest (1/2) containing 3 POTIONS.
- 8Head right to find a clearing with chest (2/2) containing a PHOENIX DOWN.
- 9Continue up the path to encounter a Murkrift. This first encounter is scripted and unwinnable. You will be defeated and return to Sylver Park.
- 10After returning to Sylver Park, you will be introduced to Chocolatte (merchant) and Serafie (pixie who helps manage mirages). Serafie will give you a Sylph prismarium and a Seraphone item.
- 11Return to Wellspring Woods via the portal. You will now encounter random battles.
- 12Proceed past the Murkrift (which is now passable) to the exit.
- Imprisming: Use physical attacks to lower an enemy's HP, then use the "Imprism" command when available.
- Mirage Boards: Unlock abilities like "Stroll" to interact with the environment. "Ram" and "Cure" are other early options.
- Treasure Troves: These chests generally contain low-value, moderately useful items.
- Inventory Space: If a chest's contents won't fit in your inventory, it will not count as unlocked. Ensure you have space before opening chests.
- Murkrift: The first Murkrift encounter is a tutorial and cannot be won. Return when you are around level 20 to defeat the Behemoth.
- Prism Case: You can carry a maximum of ten mirages. Excess mirages can be stored in the Prism Case, accessible at save points, portals, or via a Seraphone item. You can also transfigure mirages here.
- Serafie: Talk to Serafie in town whenever possible. She can provide various items, including a Mover that grants 1 SP to all active mirages.
