How to Find Jerren and Complete His Quest

Alright, Tarnished! Let's talk about finding Jerren, that gruff Witch-Hunter. He's a key NPC with a questline that ties into some major events, and you'll need to know where to look for him at different stages of your journey. It can be a bit confusing, so think of this as your friendly heads-up on where to track him down and what choices you'll face.

First Meeting - Redmane Castle

Your very first encounter with Jerren is at Redmane Castle in Caelid. He's acting as the herald for the Festival of War. Honestly, there's not a whole lot you can do with him here besides interact with him to get access to the big Starscourge Radahn fight. Once that's all done and dusted, just head back to Redmane Castle. After the battle, refresh the area (sometimes resting at a Site of Grace will do the trick) and then make your way north from the Redmane Castle Plaza Site of Grace. You'll find Jerren just chilling on a chair. Chat with him, and he'll mention that with the festival wrapped up, he'll be moving on soon. So, after you've dealt with Radahn, make sure to return here to find him.

Second Meeting - Witchbane Ruins

To find Jerren again, you'll need to progress through Sorceress Sellen's questline for a bit. Specifically, you need to reach her fourth meeting and use her Primal Glintstone on the puppet you find in Liurnia. Once you've done that, travel back to the Witchbane Ruins in the Weeping Peninsula, where you first met Sellen chained up. You'll find Jerren there now. He'll make a comment about how he's sure Sellen is still alive somewhere else. It's a bit of a trek, but keep pushing Sellen's quest forward, and you'll find him waiting.

Final Meeting - Raya Lucaria Academy

This is where things get really interesting and you'll have to make a tough call. After you've cleared out the Raya Lucaria Academy, head back to the Raya Lucaria Grand Library Site of Grace. As you head outside, look for two summon signs, one on either side of the door. You'll see a gold summon sign. If you use this, you'll be summoned to help Sellen fight against Jerren. Be warned, choosing this path means Jerren will die, and his questline will end right there, meaning you won't get any rewards from him.

Jerren vs Sellen Choice

Now, there's also a red summon sign. This one lets you invade Sellen and help Jerren instead. If you go this route, Sellen's questline will be cut short, and you won't get her rewards. It's a classic Elden Ring dilemma: you can't complete both questlines and get all the rewards in a single playthrough. Generally, Sellen's questline offers more significant rewards, but it's your choice! If you decide to help Jerren, Sellen is a tough opponent. Her sorcery spells cover a massive area, so let Jerren draw her attention and try to attack her from behind when it's safe. If you defeat Sellen, you'll get her Bell Bearing and the Witch's Glintstone Crown. After this fight, leave the library, and you'll find Jerren standing to your right as you exit. He'll thank you by giving you an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
