How to Find Gatekeeper Gostoc and Complete His Quest

After defeating Margit, head left from the main gate of Stormveil Castle. You will hear Gostoc calling out to you. He offers an alternative passage into the castle or will open the main gate if you choose.

You can meet Gostoc west of the Main Gate Site of Grace.

After your first meeting, Gostoc will steal 30% of your Runes every time you die and retrieve them. He is "banking" these Runes.

Warning: To recover these stolen Runes, you must kill Gostoc. You will receive all Runes he has taken. It is recommended to hold off on killing him until at least his second meeting.

Warning: You must kill Gostoc before defeating Godrick, the Grafted, at the end of Stormveil Castle, or the stolen Runes will be lost forever.

During your exploration of Stormveil Castle, you will reach a courtyard. From there, you can enter the room to raise the main gate (if it's not already open). Drop down the hole in this room to find yourself back at Gostoc.

Speak to Gostoc again. He will express surprise that you are still alive and will now agree to sell his wares.

Ruin Fragment (5 in stock) for 100 Runes

Furlcalling Finger Remedy (4 in stock) for 1,000 Runes

Caestus (1 in stock) for 800 Runes

Great Arrow (5 in stock) for 300 Runes

Ballista Bolt (5 in stock) for 300 Runes

Buckler (1 in stock) for 1,500 Runes

Bandit Garb (1 in stock) for 1,500 Runes

Bandit Manchettes (1 in stock) for 1,000 Runes

Bandit Boots (1 in stock) for 1,000 Runes

After defeating Godrick in the north of Stormveil Castle, you will find Gostoc in the same area. He will be stamping on Godrick's remains. Speak to him, and he will remark that he is finally free.

Gostoc remains in this location for a significant portion of the game. You can kill him here to obtain Gostoc's Bell Bearing, but this will lock you out of another reward.

Your final meeting with Gostoc occurs after you have completed both Nepheli Loux and Kenneth Haight's quests and reached Crumbling Farum Azula. Gostoc will move to the throne room with Nepheli Loux and Kenneth.

At this final location, Gostoc will agree to sell you an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for 20,000 Runes.
