Starting Your Quest Journey

As you explore Limgrave, make it a point to find the first stage of each NPC's quest. Don't worry about completing them all right away; just initiating the conversation is key. This ensures you don't miss out on crucial dialogue or items that might be needed later.

White-Faced Varré

Your very first encounter with an NPC will likely be White-Faced Varré, chilling near The First Step Site of Grace. Just have a chat with him; there's not much else to do at this point, but it's a good start.

Melina and Your Mount, Torrent

After you've rested at your third Site of Grace, Melina will appear and give you the Spectral Steed Whistle. This is super important – it's how you get Torrent, your trusty steed! While you're at it, keep an eye out for the Spirit Calling Bell and the Flask of Wondrous Physick. There are also guides on how to upgrade your flasks, which you should definitely check out early on.

Once you've met Melina and got your whistle, head to the Church of Elleh at night. You'll find Renna, also known as Ranni the Witch, sitting on the church walls. She's the one who actually gives you Torrent. For now, that's all she'll do, but remember her!

Boc the Seamster

Next up is Boc. You'll first find him disguised as a talking tree. Look for a patch of woods northeast of the road that heads southeast from the Gatefront Ruins. Roll into the talking tree to break the spell, and then speak to him. After you rest at a Site of Grace, Boc will move to the Coastal Cave on the southwestern shores of Limgrave. You'll need to defeat the boss in there to get his sewing needle, which you then give back to him.

Sorceress Sellen

From where you found Boc, head east and cross the bridge. Keep following the road south until you reach the Waypoint Ruins. Inside, you'll need to defeat the Mad Pumpkin Head in the cellar. Once that's done and you've rested at a Site of Grace, you can open the doors at the back of the cellar to find Sorceress Sellen. She's a must-talk-to if you're into sorcery, but even if not, becoming her apprentice is a good step.

Bloody Finger Hunter Yura

After your business with Sellen, head back outside and ride towards the Agheel Lake shore to the southwest. Follow the lake's edge to the very south, then head directly west. You'll find a big ruined structure in a field south of the lake. Underneath it is Bloody Finger Hunter Yura. Chat with him; he'll warn you about the Flying Dragon Agheel. Make sure to talk to him again after you've taken down that dragon.
