Storvacker Caged

Guide to finding and freeing Storvacker the bear in Dragon Age: Inquisition's Jaws of Hakkon DLC. Learn where to look and how to defeat enemies.

Alright, so you've got Thane Svarah Sun-Hair breathing down your neck about her missing bear, Storvacker. She won't even think about fighting the Jaws of Hakkon until you get it back. No pressure, right?

To get started, you'll need to chat with some of the local Avvar villagers. They'll give you the initial clues. But hey, if you want to cut straight to the chase and avoid the runaround, head to the north part of Stone-Bear Hold. Look for the Master of the Hunt – he's chilling a bit southwest of the merchant. He'll point you towards the valley to the northwest, where Storvacker's probably off doing his own thing.

Now, when you get into that valley, watch out! The enemies there can really lay into you with their melee attacks if you're caught in close quarters, especially if you're a lighter armored class. Your best bet is to try and stay behind them and avoid drawing their attention directly.

Once you reach the spot the Master of the Hunt marked on your map, you'll run into some Jaws of Hakkon baddies. These guys are no joke, so make sure your potions are topped up before you engage. Keep your lighter armored companions away from the main scrum. After you've dealt with them, head straight north. You'll find a cave entrance. Inside, there are more of the same enemies, plus a few doors that a rogue can pick. Use the lever on the central door to free our furry friend.

As you exit the cave, be ready for another group of enemies. To make quick work of them, you can use the Mark of the Rift ability. Alternatively, hang back near the cave entrance. This will often force the enemies to bunch up, making them perfect targets for your area-of-effect attacks.

Once they're all down, Storvacker will be free, and you can head back to Svarah Sun-Hair to let her know you've completed your task.
