- 3Continue east, then south of the Red Lyrium Veins, following the road south.
- 4Head southeast from Crestwood toward the Three Trout Farm Camp. Establish camp.
- 5Follow the road southeast as it loops northeast to a cave entrance. Speak with Hawke outside.
- 6Enter the cave and speak with the warden. After the cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically), interact with the codex Regarding the Calling and loot the cave for Deep Mushrooms.
- 7Return to Skyhold and spend 8 Power to begin Investigate the Western Approach.
- 8In the Western Approach, head southwest from the Lost Spring Canyon Camp to meet Hawke and the warden to confront Erimond.
- 9After the cutscene, ask Erimond questions, then use the Mark of the Rift to end the battle instantly.

- 11Return to the war table in Skyhold and spend 20 Power to begin Here Lies the Abyss. Bring Blackwall for unique dialogue.
- 12You gain control at the Lower Bailey. Fight the first wave of Shades and a Warden Spellbinder using area attacks.
- 13Head up the steps, focus on the Senior Warden for a Rare Accessory, and check the northeast corner for a Chest.
- 14Cross the bridge, defeat the two Shades, and head down the steps to help Wardens fight a Spellbinder and Shades. You can choose to make them surrender (initiating a fight) or fall back.
- 15Loot the Chest and continue to another Chest. Open the door and climb the staircase to find a Chest in the corner.
- 16Turn around from the corner Chest, clear the Warden Archer and two Shades, then step outside the wall to spot a Chest.
- 17Climb to the Battlements and defeat the Wardens. More Wardens will come from down the way; one can drop a Rare Armor.
- 18Inside, use the Supply Cache after healing.
- 19Open the Chest in the next room. Head back out to the battlefield to face two Despair Demons, a Pride Demon, and Warden Spellbinders. Use incapacitating attacks on the demons, then defeat the Spellbinders.
- 20Loot the Chest for the Grey Warden Banner, grab the codex An Unsigned Letter, and find a Chest on the north side holding a Rare Accessory.
- 21Cross the bridge and engage in a similar fight. You can clear the three siege points before finding the Warden-Commander, but it is not required.
- 22Loot the Pride Demon for a Rare Rune and the nearby chest for a Rare Helm.
- 23Restock at the Supple Cache and grab the codex A Letter from Warden-Commander Clarel.
- 24Defeat the Shades that ambush you and go down the steps to find Loot including the Shield of the Anointed.
- 25Go through the doors to the far side of the walls and defeat a Shade and Rage Demon.
- 26Use the Supply Cache and head through the doorway. Loot the Chest for a Rare Armor.
- 27Press on to trigger a scene. If you brought Blackwall, you will get special dialogue.
- 28Another scene takes place. If you turned the Wardens, you will only fight a few demons and Spellbinders. Clear them out.
- 29Head up the stairs to find Shades. Continue to follow Clarel past the Greater Shade and up more stairs for another scene.
- 30Use the Supply Cache and head right to find Fears of the Dreamers on a table.
- 31Search around to find a Candle through the water and loot a crystal on the way.
