To Catch a Thief

Need help with the 'To Catch a Thief' quest in Dragon Age II? Follow our walkthrough to find Isabela, defeat Qunari, and recover valuable items like the Gauntlets of the Ashaad.

Alright, so you've made it to Act II and are ready to tackle the 'To Catch a Thief' quest. This one kicks off if you recruited Isabela back in Act I and have completed 'Follow the Qun'. If you skip this, she's gone for good, so let's make sure we don't mess this up!

First things first, head back to your Hawke Estate. You'll need to chat with Isabela and tell her you're on board to help her out. Once that's sorted, make your way to the objective marker in Lowtown. You'll run into some Qunari right off the bat, so get ready for a fight. After you've dealt with them, be sure to loot their bodies – you might find the Gauntlets of the Ashaad on one of them.

Next up, you'll need to head upstairs. Keep an eye out for traps, as you'll need to disarm them before you can safely proceed. Inside, you'll find a barrel and a total of six crates. The one tucked away in the northwest corner is the important one; it contains the Lambswool Insoles.

As you make your way back out into Lowtown, keep an eye on the bodies you left behind. Wall-Eyed Sam, in particular, might be carrying Isabela’s Letter, so make sure you grab that too. That should wrap up this particular quest!
