Alright, let's tackle the optional quest 'Unbidden Rescue' in Dragon Age II. It's a pretty straightforward one, but there's some decent loot to grab if you know where to look.
Walkthrough
- 1First things first, head to the Viscount’s Keep. You'll need to give Guardsman Eustice an item to trigger this. Once that's done, go up the stairs on the north side of the Keep. After a scene, you'll agree to find Saemus, which officially starts the quest ‘The Unbidden Rescue’.
- 2Now, make your way over to The Wounded Coast. As soon as you arrive, loot the corpse right at the entrance.
- 3Continue heading south at the junction. You'll find a pile of bones and some glitterdust. After that, you'll need to fight off some Tal-Vashoth. Make sure to loot the sack they were guarding.
- 4Keep pushing south. You'll find another corpse along the path, and shortly after, a Dalish Assassin. The game gives you a choice here: you can talk them down and get some coin, or handle it another way.
- 5Further east, you'll spot a barrel. Just past that, there's a path leading south to another corpse.
- 6Before the next junction, look for a pile of bones.
- 7Past that junction, you'll finally find The Winters and Saemus. Saemus is understandably hesitant to go with this ruthless group. A fight's about to break out, so be ready! Your priority should be to focus down Ginnis first.
- 8Once The Winters are dealt with, more Mercenaries will show up. After you've cleared the area, tell Saemus to hang tight while you do a quick sweep for any remaining loot.
- 9In the junction to the north, you'll find a chest. To the right of it is a barrel, and tucked away in a cutaway section in the middle is a crate.
- 10In the southern part of the area, you'll find a corpse, a crate containing Redblossom Slave, a pile of bones with Design: Rune of Fire Warding, another chest, and the The Wounded Coast monument.
- 11Once you've collected everything, talk to Saemus. He'll get you back to the Keep, and that's the quest wrapped up!
