Learn about the Tentacle trait in Core Keeper, including how to attract them, their stats, and their slow healing rate.

Tentacles are one of the strongest non-humanoid creatures in Core Keeper. Their statistics are comparable to an upgraded Beetle, offering significant HP and fighting capability similar to Skeletons or Trolls. However, their primary drawback is an extremely poor healing rate; their energy replenishes very slowly, even when sleeping. They are also as slow as a Giant slug.

Attracting a Tentacle is difficult as they appear very rarely. Building a Temple or hitting water might increase your chances. They can scavenge, but their other skills are mediocre. Be cautious, as Tentacles may join your enemy if they become annoyed.

Tentacles can appear in most levels from 16 onwards, though they are uncommon. Levels 19 and 20 feature some good Tentacles that require persuasion to join you.

Tips
  • Build your Lair next to water to gain experience while sleeping.
  • Consider building a Temple to increase your chances of attracting a Tentacle.
  • Be aware of their slow healing rate and plan accordingly.
  • If a Tentacle becomes annoyed, it might join your enemy.
