Alright, let's talk about the Flintlock Musket! This is an uncommon gun that's pretty unique because its shots actually push you back a little when you fire. It's a neat mechanic, but keep it in mind! ## Getting Your Hands on One There are a few ways you can snag this weapon: ### Looting Chests * Locked Copper Chests: You've got about a 6.85% chance to find one of these in a Locked Copper Chest. If you're rolling multiple times, the chance per roll is also 6.85% for one, or a smaller 0.85% chance for 3–4. ### Enemy Drops Some enemies have a chance to drop the Flintlock Musket: * Merchants: The Bearded Merchant, Brave Merchant, Cloaked Merchant, and Fishing Merchant all have a small 0.27% chance to drop it. The Cloaked Merchant used to sell it, but not anymore after update 1.0.0.1. * Cavelings: Both the Caveling Hunter (1.19% chance) and regular Cavelings (0.27% chance) can drop it. * Ghorm the Devourer: This big guy has a decent 6.25% chance for one, or a 4.93% chance for 5 if you're lucky. * Large Wooden Crate: There's a 1.03% chance to find one in these. ### Special Chests in Structures Certain structures have their own exclusive chests: * General Chests: Found in places like the Bridge Area, Wood House, Abandoned Camp, and more. These have an 8.77% chance for one, or 2.02% for 4–5. * Larva Hive Chests: In the Main Larva Hive or Small Larva Hive areas, these chests have an 8.7% chance for one, or 2.25% for 3–5. ### Digging Spots * Grass Digging Spot: If you find a Grass Digging Spot near a Solitary Tree, there's a 50% chance it'll contain the Flintlock Musket! ## Tips for Using It * Slow but Steady: Honestly, its attack speed isn't the best compared to other ranged weapons. You won't be spamming shots like with some other guns. * Big Damage Potential: Don't let the slow speed fool you! This weapon has a really high base damage. Even at a lower level, with some upgrades and good gear, you can easily get its damage over 2000, allowing you to one-shot many enemies. It's a late-game powerhouse if you build around it. ## History Notes * Version 1.0.0.1: This update changed a few things. It's no longer sold by the Cloaked Merchant. Reinforcing it now costs Tin Bars instead of Iron Bars, and it salvages into Tin Bars too.
