Learn about the Lair in Core Keeper, including creature attraction, tile costs, and how to manage creature happiness.

The Lair is the resorting place for tired creatures who regenerate their energy by sleeping. Without a lair, all of your creatures grow unhappy rather quickly.

Each creature claims a distinct number of tiles in the entire Lair. For most creatures, this value is one tile, but larger creatures like Dragons take up 4 tiles.

Creatures attracted to the Lair: Beetle, Bile Demon, Dragon, Spider, Tentacle, Vampire

Cost per tile: 100

Research value: 1000

Shortcut key: Shift + L

Tips
  • In some levels, you may need to construct two separate Lairs because certain creatures will not live together in the same shared lair.
  • The following types of creatures should always be kept apart: Fly and Spider, Hell hound and Demon Spawn, Warlock and Vampire, Skeleton and Bile Demon, Samurai and Dark Mistress.
  • The easiest way to prevent creature rivalry is by building two separate lairs and placing each type in its own distinct lair.
