Complete Command & Conquer: Red Alert mission 16 walkthrough. Learn how to defend against Allied transports, cruisers, and capture their construction yard.
Walkthrough
- 1Immediately move your MCV (Mobile Construction Vehicle) to the left while your tanks engage Allied forces. Expect heavy losses due to nearby mines.
- 2Upon receiving reinforcements on the beach, crush any remaining enemy units.
- 3Deploy your MCV, repair it, and construct a power plant, an ore refinery, a war factory, an advanced power plant, a radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked) dome (to see enemy units on the minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen)), and at least one SAM (Surface-to-Air Missile) site to defend against incoming choppers.
- 4Deploy surviving Mammoth tanks (aim for three or more) on the southern beach to stall incoming Allied units.
- 5Send your heavy tanks to the eastern water to engage the approaching Allied cruiser. If it stops close enough to land, you can destroy it with your tanks.
- 6Continuously build heavy tanks and position them along the southern and western perimeters of your base.
- 7Use V2 rockets to clear out turrets and artillery positioned above your base, but do not destroy the bridge, as it will be needed later.
- 8To manage power demands for Tesla Coils, block off the western and southern beaches with tanks to destroy Allied units before they reach your base. Avoid blocking the top beach to prevent accidental destruction of the bridge.
- 9Build an airfield and deploy your first scout plane to the left of your base. Locate an island and land paratroopers to collect two money crates.
- 10Construct submarines to defend against cruisers and to clear Allied boats around the island north of your base. Do not destroy the bridge connecting this island to your base.
- 11Destroy the bridge above the island and use your submarines to cross and destroy more of the Allied navy.
- 12After clearing the naval presence around the island, use V2 rockets for hit-and-run attacks on the island's defenses, being careful not to destroy the bridge.
- 13When the bridge is clear, send riflemen (or paratroopers) across to destroy gap generators and nearby buildings, avoiding chopper pads due to potential turrets and pillboxes.
- 14Ensure the area is clear, leaving the construction yard intact, then send V2 rockets over the bridge to destroy remaining Allied defenses.
- 15Destroy all Allied buildings except the construction yard, then send engineers to capture it.
- 16Build a tech center and a naval yard. Construct several cruisers, supported by submarines, to defend them.
- 17Wait for your satellite to reveal the Allied navy's location and use your cruisers to destroy the bridge northwest of the captured island.
- 18Use cruisers to destroy small Allied boats, then move submarines through the bridge to destroy the Allied cruiser and naval yard.
- 19Station cruisers to attack the Allied base, then move them east by the northern bridge to continue their assault.
- 20Transport Mammoth tanks to the northern area and use V2 rockets to destroy any remaining structures, especially in the northeast corner, being mindful of mines.
- 21Build several airfields and construct MIGs to destroy anti-aircraft guns. Use MIGs and paratroopers to eliminate all remaining Allied buildings and units.
Tips
- Mines pose a significant threat early in the mission; be cautious when moving units.
- SAM sites are crucial for defending against Allied air attacks.
- Capturing the Allied construction yard provides access to advanced buildings and units.
- Cruisers are powerful naval units that can devastate enemy bases and fleets.
- Submarines are essential for protecting your own cruisers and attacking enemy naval assets.
- V2 rockets are effective against static defenses but require careful targeting.
- Do not destroy bridges prematurely, as they are often required for strategic movement later in the mission.
- Paratroopers are useful for capturing structures and can be deployed on islands for money crates.
