Tips
  • There are three factors that determine your rank: Sentinel damage, Terminal damage, and City damage.
  • Sentinel damage refers to damage taken by your strike team units (Sentinels). To achieve S rank, aim to never get hit, as healing this damage does not improve your score for this factor.
  • Terminal damage directly corresponds to the lost percentage on the Terminal gauge (visible on the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)). Similar to Sentinel damage, avoiding damage to the Terminal is the only certain way to get S rank, as restoring Terminal percentage does not consistently improve the score for this factor.
  • City damage is tracked on the upper right of the HUD and occurs as a result of Kaiju attacks that damage city blocks. Some waves may start with pre-damaged city blocks, meaning City status begins below 100%. Your own attacks do not cause City damage; it is a penalty for leaving Kaiju alive too long.
  • When pursuing S ranks, prioritize preventing damage to the Terminal first, then to the Sentinels, as the Terminal has the lowest and least-forgiving threshold, followed by Sentinels, and then City damage which has a much higher threshold.
  • Focus on preventing Sentinel and Terminal damage, as City damage is largely uncontrollable and a consequence of prolonged battles.
