Explore Shu Amiguchi's unique armaments like Floating Mine and Optimized Generator, and his skills in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Learn recommended loadouts.
Shu Amiguchi is a G4 pilot in 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, whose base arsenal is noted for its low power. While he has skills and unique armaments that aim to increase damage, it remains challenging to make him a significant impact player in battles. His primary contributions are typically limited to shields and occasional Laser fire.
Unique Armaments:
- Floating Mine: Moves to a target point, dropping mines that explode for small damage and apply Overheat. Upgrades from 3 to 6 mines. Mines can be concentrated by making a short move or spread out with a long move. More effective as an area attack than Multi-Lock Missiles. Concentrating damage requires Shu to be in melee range, which is generally undesirable for G4 pilots.
- Optimized Generator: A passive skill unlocked from Shield Repair. It increases the EP cost of direct attacks by 50 but multiplies their power and range by 1.25. While beneficial for other Sentinel generations, its boost to most G4 armaments is insufficient to make them truly effective, and the increased EP cost can worsen sustain issues. It does not apply to Interceptors. It is necessary for Convergent Lasers to function as a railgun, but Shu still functions as a budget G3 in this role.
- Point-Lock Missiles: Unlocks from Multi-Lock Missiles. Costs more EP and WT. Fires from range instead of requiring Shu to enter the line of fire, but does not address the original armament's poor damage or unreliability. Sticking with Multi-Lock Missiles is also not recommended.
Recommended Armaments:
- Arm-Mounted Convergent Lasers
- Shield Matrix
- Interceptors
- Optimized Generator
Shu’s Skills:
- Motorcyclist: Not utilized.
- Playboy: Raises stats based on the number of girls on the strike team. Not recommended due to G4 limitations and the importance of effective pair skills.
- Easily Bored: Activates by chance when the previous action is different from the current one. Can be triggered by alternating between two armaments. While the popup appears for Interceptors, it does not increase their damage. It also appears for Flare Torpedo and Shield Matrix without increasing their effectiveness.
- Pressure’s On: Increases dodge chance when many kaiju are nearby. Not relevant for a G4 spamming Interceptors at the terminal.
- Watch This, Yuki-Chan!: Significantly increases attack if Takamiya is nearby. Not practical to base team composition around.
- Inaba’s Support: WT bonus if many kaiju are near, which is an infrequent scenario.
Shu’s Defensive Armament:
- Shield Matrix: The only effective defensive armament. It functions like an APSOS, firing a shield missile that grants shields to the targeted Sentinel and nearby allies. The missile guidance can be faulty, leading to a long, winding path if the target is not close to Shu.
