    Exit the Unreliable on Byzantium and proceed to Adjutant Akande’s Landing Pad, which leads directly to the HHC Building.

    Make your way west off the landing pad and go through a doorway to reach the HHC Building. Stop at a checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) to have your papers checked by Guard Esparza.

    Continue west and go through another door between two corporate troopers to reach a room with two vending machines.

    Head up an elevator to the south to reach the third floor of the HHC Building.

    Go to the northern end of the floor and speak with Percival Platt.

    After speaking with Platt, you will be able to contact Sophia Akande remotely.

Tips
  • If you arrived via the Byzantium Freight Port Landing Pad (usually after Monarch, by siding with Phineas), you would need to complete The City and the Stars to access the HHC Building, but this is bypassed by completing Balance Due.
  • The landing pad you choose affects your initial experience in Byzantium: Akande’s Landing Pad is less busy, while the Freight Port Landing Pad allows you to explore the city proper earlier.
  • Two locked doors are on the western end of the third floor of the HHC Building. One requires [Lockpick 100] and the other requires the Minister’s HHC Access Card, which is obtained via The City and the Stars.
  • After meeting Akande, you can explore Byzantium. Head south from Platt’s desk, ride the elevator to the first floor, and go north through a security checkpoint to reach Byzantium’s Acropolis District.

  • Continue northeast past a security checkpoint and down stairs to reach the Estates District.
  • In the Estates District, north of the stairs to the Acropolis District, is the Fenhill Estate, relevant for the quest The Low Crusade.
  • Southeast of the stairs is Hortense Ingalsbee. Speak with her and ask “What’s wrong with more people coming to Byzantium?” to learn about early retirees and start the quest Why Call Them Back From Retirement?.
  • Further southeast is Minister Clarke’s residence, guarded by corporate troopers. This location is primarily relevant if following the Phineas path. Do not enter the yard as it is a restricted area.
