Alright, let's tackle Lugwig's Castle! This is a pretty straightforward level, but there are a few tricky bits to watch out for. We'll get you through it and ready to face Lugwig himself.

Walkthrough

First off, head to the right. You'll see an enemy – you can either jump on it or use your cape spin to take it out.

Watch out for the ball and chain swinging on the right; you'll want to avoid that. Use the stone blocks to move upwards.

Keep going right, navigating through more of those pesky balls and chains.

At the end, you'll find a mushroom. Grab it, then head through the door.

Inside, the ceiling starts to fall! You need to move fast. Leg it to the left, jumping over the lava pits. Be careful not to jump too high, or you might hit the ceiling or a fireball.

You'll see a switch block. Hit it to make the ceiling rise, giving you some breathing room.

Now, ignore the enemies and head right again, over two more lava pits.

As the ceiling starts to come down *again*, you need to run left. If you make it in time, you'll reach the end safely. Take a moment to catch your breath, then enter the next door.

Once inside, jump up and climb the fence to the right.

Head down the passage and hit the block you find there. It'll give you a power-up – either a mushroom or a cape feather, depending on what you have.

After grabbing your power-up, head back to the fence and climb up again.

You'll need to jump from fence to fence as you ascend. Keep an eye out for Koopas and try to avoid them.

Stay towards the left side. At the very top, you'll find the red boss door. It's time to face Lugwig!

BOSS: LUGWIG

Lugwig might look tough, but he's actually not too bad once you know the drill. He'll start by firing fireballs at you. Just dodge these – they're pretty easy to avoid. Once you've dodged them, jump on his head.

He'll then retreat into his shell and chase you. You need to jump over him as he comes your way. Keep doing this until he stops. He'll do a little flip, land, and then start the pattern over again, firing fireballs. Jump on him three times total, and he'll be defeated!

Pro-Tip: If you happen to have the Fire Mario power-up, you can also hurt Lugwig with fireballs, which can make the fight a bit easier.

After you've saved your game, you're ready to head into the next area: the Forest of Illusion!
