Start by advancing past the three Goombas.

Continue down the path until you reach a hole. Perform a long jump (Z+A) to cross it.

Continue down the path and perform another long jump across a second hole.

You will reach a platform with giant mushrooms to your left. Ignore them and continue.

Past the mushrooms, you'll encounter moles throwing rocks. Proceed with caution.

Advance past the moles to an area with 3 Bob-Ombs. You can ignore them or defeat them for a coin each.

Continue past the Bob-Ombs to a more open area with a giant pink Bob-Omb. You can pick him up from behind and throw him, or ignore him.

Advance to the narrow bridge on the other side of the pink Bob-Omb's area. Collect the 5 coins on the bridge.

At the end of the bridge, jump to the platform with the first monkey. Do not pick up this monkey, as he will take your hat.

Go to the far right of this platform to find a large, stationary log.

Jump on the left side of the log to make it roll left. Run in the opposite direction of the log's roll to make it roll completely to the left.

Once the log has rolled fully left, go to its far side and jump onto the new, small platform.

Jump to the adjacent platform. Follow it to the right; it will begin to rise.

As the platform rises, large steel balls will roll towards you. Avoid them, as they deal two pieces of damage.

After passing the steel balls, the platform will slope downwards, causing you to slide.

A hidden 1-Up Mushroom is located at the beginning of the huge pit ahead. Collect it.

The monkey will jump on the cage, causing it to drop, and the star will appear back where you saw the first monkey.

Return to the area of the first monkey (about halfway up the mountain) and jump across the water to collect the star.

Tips
