Vanish Cap Block (Blue)

First up, the blue '!' block. This one's pretty cool because it gives you the Vanish Cap. When you grab this, Mario turns almost invisible! Seriously, only a few pixels of him show. As Vanish Mario, you won't take damage from flames, you can actually walk right through enemies without getting hurt, and you can even pass through certain walls and wire nets. Metal Cap Block (Green)

Next, we've got the green '!' block, which holds the Metal Cap. Pop this on, and Mario transforms into Metal Mario! This form has some awesome perks. The red '!' block is your ticket to the skies! It contains a Wing Cap, and when Mario puts it on, he can fly! You can take off by doing a triple jump or by launching yourself out of a cannon. Flying is not only a blast, but it's often the key to discovering secret areas you'd never reach otherwise. Get ready to soar!

Yellow Block (Common)

Finally, the yellow '!' block. These are the most common ones you'll find. They don't usually hold anything super special, but they can still be pretty rewarding. You might find a handful of coins, a helpful 1-Up Mushroom, a Koopa Shell to use, or even, if you're lucky, a Power Star! Obviously, finding a Power Star in one of these is the best possible outcome.
