Walkthrough

Activate Debug Mode (a mode that allows you to place objects and modify the game world) and proceed to the final battle with Mecha Sonic in Sky Sanctuary Zone.

After the original Mecha Sonic destroys the teleporter (an object that transports characters), use Debug Mode to paste a new teleporter onto the screen.

The game is programmed to trigger the appearance of Mecha Sonic when a teleporter is destroyed. This will cause another Mecha Sonic to appear and destroy the teleporter you just placed.

If you continue to paste teleporters, you will end up fighting the original Mecha Sonic along with two of its clones.

If you manage to defeat one of the Mecha Sonic clones, the level will conclude as it normally would.

Tips

As you run up the spiral pathway after the battle, observe that the Death Egg (a flying fortress) appears to be short-circuiting.
You will also notice that the Death Egg's armour is still damaged, indicating it crash-landed on top of the volcano in Lava Reef Zone.
