Explore team skills in Sonic Advance 3, detailing Cream/Tails flight, Cream/Knuckles auto chao attack, and Amy's varied movesets.

Cream/Tails Formation: Flight

This is a mediocre Flight team. Cream loses her flight ability but gains the umbrella, though Tails can still air lift her using Tag Action (a special combined move). When in the air, pressing A then A again performs a Floating Fall, where Cream floats gently down with her umbrella. You can change direction by pressing left or right, but you cannot attack enemies. If you let go of the A button, Cream will fall.

Cream/Knuckles Formation: Power

This is considered one of the best teams. Cheese circles around Cream, automatically killing enemies he hits, and Cream's flight makes this a very strong team. Strangely, Cream loses her ability to float in water when paired with Knuckles. The Automatic Chao Spinning Attack has Cheese continuously spinning around Cream, automatically killing enemies or getting item boxes he touches.

Cream/Amy Formation: Flight

This is a pretty good flight team, but not the best. When in the air, pressing A then B performs a Chao Attack, similar to Cream's basic attack, but you must jump first to use it. Pressing A then down plus B while in the air performs a Hip Drop, a fast downwards attack. The B button performs a Hammer Attack, used to attack enemies beside you. Using Hammer Attack on a spring allows for an extra high jump.

Amy's Basic Attacks

Amy's basic moves are similar to her abilities in Sonic Advance 1, and she does not have spin attacks. She is the character most affected by other characters. The A button performs a Jump, during which you cannot attack enemies. Pressing down and A performs a Leap, where she takes giant steps forward, useful for getting up steep slopes that others cannot even Spin-Dash (a charged rolling attack) up. Pressing down and A, then B during Leap performs a Head Slide, useful when encountering an enemy during a Leap. Pressing A then B while in the air performs a Mid-Air Hammer Attack, swinging her hammer in the air. The B button performs a Hammer Attack, used to attack enemies beside you. Using Hammer Attack on a spring allows for an extra high jump.

Amy/Sonic Formation: Speed

In this formation, Amy's moves are very different from her basic ones, resembling her abilities from Sonic Advance 2. She gains all spin moves, including her weird Spin Dash. This is a good speed team. Pressing down while running performs a Spin Along Ground, where she spins while still moving to attack enemies. The A button performs a Spin Jump, used for jumping or attacking enemies. Pressing and holding down + A then releasing performs a Spin Dash, used for attacking enemies or instantly increasing speed for getting up slopes. Releasing A after holding down for a while results in a less powerful Spin Dash. Pressing A then A again while in the air performs a Jump Dash, where Amy attacks sideways while holding her skirt. Pressing A then down + B while in the air performs a Spinning Hammer Attack, swirling down toward the ground and then bouncing back up. This formation also includes Boost Mode (a state of increased speed).

Amy/Tails Formation: Flight

This is a mid-level flight formation. Amy has her balloon gliding, and her Super Hammer Attack has more height, complemented by Tails' Tag Action. Pressing A then A again while in the air performs a Floating Fall, where Amy floats gently down with balloons. . If you let go of the A button, Amy will fall. Pressing A then B while in the air performs a Mid-air Hammer Jump, swinging the hammer and jumping up higher.

Amy/Knuckles Formation: Power

Knuckles changes Amy significantly. She gains a much larger Hammer. Amy Dash can be useful for getting up slopes. Pressing and holding down + A then releasing performs an Amy Dash, where she runs at a faster speed without entering Boost Mode, resembling Sonic's Super Peel-out from Sonic CD. Pressing A then down + B while in the air performs a Mid-Air Hammer Attack, swirling down toward the ground and bouncing back up. The B button performs a Big Hammer Attack, attacking enemies with a huge hammer. Using this on a spring allows for an extra high jump. Pressing down and B performs a Hammer Jump, used to jump extra high.

Amy/Cream Formation: Flight

This is considered the worst flight team, as they struggle to gain height except for high jumps off springs, R button trick moves, and the slight boost from Cream's Air Tag Action. It is similar to the Amy/Tails team but noted as cute. Pressing A then A again while in the air performs a Floating Fall, where Amy floats gently down with balloons. . If you let go of the A button, Amy will fall. This formation also includes Mid Air Trick Moves.
