Walkthrough
- 1Start by carefully navigating the initial crusher trap. Jump on the block, then onto the crusher, avoiding being crushed against the wall or hitting spikes.
- 2To your left, you'll find a spring pointing right. Hit it and defeat the red Badnik.
- 3Jump left near the red Badnik's location and land in a gap in the left wall above the spring. Collect the three rings inside. (Cream/Knuckles can fly up here).
- 4Exit the gap and jump over a hole with two crushers. You'll see a barrier and Chao #2 on the other side.
- 5Chao #2: Head back left to the base of the waterfall with the speed booster. Use the speed booster and jump hard right before the floor curves down to find Chao #2 on a ledge against the right wall.
- 6Return to the area near the beginning of the act.
- 7Chao #3: This Chao requires Flight, Climbing, or Tag Action High Jump. Jump down to your left to fall back to the beginning of the act. Go up the slopes again. Near the top of the second slope, jump right to where the Green Shield is located (if you haven't collected it).
- 8Continue right, jumping higher to avoid a hole covered by a falling platform.
- 9Reach a wall. Use Flight, Climbing, or Tag Action to ascend and go right. Defeat the lamprey Badnik in the gap.
- 10Hit the spring and land on the tracked platform moving left. Jump off this platform onto a lower one with a spike trap. Instead of re-boarding the platform, jump straight down to the right to land on Chao #3.
- 11Chao #4: Tag Action High Jump is required. You'll see a barrier to the right (the same one passed earlier). Break it.
- 12Jump back on the spring and onto the tracked platform again. Wait for the platform to move down the right side and jump on it.
- 13Ride the platform until it stops. Jump left for the ? Ring Item Box, avoiding the shark Badnik.
- 14Jump onto the moving platform to the left of the item box, then jump up left to a small platform with three rings and a red Badnik.
- 15Jump to the small pole and let it bounce you up, or jump over it, to hit a speed booster that sends you through the floor.
- 16Head left to a waterfall with a moving block. Avoid the shark and climb the waterfall. You can land on the moving block and jump right, or climb higher to jump for three rings.
- 17You'll hit a speed booster that sends you past the checkpoint, where you'll be stopped by a wall.
- 18Jump up right, avoiding a red Badnik, to a machine you must bounce on to go up.
- 19Once up, you can grab the Invincibility Item Box to the right (beware of the lamprey Badnik), then land on the rail to the left and grind.
- 20Grind left until you hit a blue switch on the left wall. Press it to make a platform appear.
- 21A second switch above the first platform makes another platform appear to the right. Jump right from that platform to hit a switch that activates a spring. (Alternatively, use Flight/Tag Action to reach the spring directly).
- 22Hit the spring to be sent upwards into a duct.
- 23The duct will send you running left, then onto the ceiling. You'll fall, hit a speed booster, and go right up a steep slope.
- 24Keep going right until you reach a switch. Press it and get on the appearing platform.
- 25Jump up through the rail, then hit the spring to the right to grind the rail going left.
- 26You'll run up a wall and hit a speed booster. At the top, enter the cannon.
- 27You'll be shot through the floor, then go right past a checkpoint.
- 28Keep going right and grind the rail.
- 29You'll be launched off the rail onto a falling platform. Quickly jump off to the right.
- 30Grab the ? Ring Item Box and continue right. You'll run down, then up, hit a speed booster, and reach a small platform.
Tips
- The initial crusher section requires precise timing and practice.
- Chao #3 and #4 require specific abilities; ensure you have a character with Flight, Climbing, or Tag Action High Jump.
- Be mindful of the lamprey and shark Badniks, as well as spike traps.
- The section with multiple switches can be bypassed using character abilities if you find it difficult.
- The final sequence involves a falling platform; react quickly to avoid falling.
