Part 26

Guide yourself through Part 26 of Silent Hill: Downpour, featuring the Boogeyman boss fight, finding the Boat Key, and navigating back to Chastain Heights.

Alright, we're moving on to Part 26! First up, you'll find yourself facing a locked door with a few bells on the other side. Each bell has a symbol – an EYE, a SYMBOL, or a FLAME. You'll need to ring them in a specific order to open that door. The guide mentions looking at an order above, so make sure you've got that noted down before you start ringing!

Once the door is open, just follow the path ahead. It's pretty straightforward and will lead to a scene. After that, you'll be outside. Head down the hill, and keep following the sound of Charlie's voice until you reach the lake. Keep an eye out on the right side; there's an axe stuck in a tree. Seriously, grab it. You'll see why in a moment.

BOSS: The Boogeyman

Stats / Weaknesses:

• The axe you just picked up is the ideal weapon.
• The Boogeyman has two main attacks: a shock wave (usually at a distance) and a melee attack.
• You should NOT block his melee attack; focus on evasion.

Phases:

1. Bait and Hit: The Boogeyman is slow. Bait him into swinging at you, then run around him while he's turning. Quickly hit him ONCE with the axe, then repeat the process. Stick to one hit to stay safe; going for more can get you caught.
2. Ranged Option: Alternatively, you can shoot him while slowly walking backward. There's a rock in the center of the area that can provide cover if you need space. If you've managed to keep the shotgun this whole time, it'll take him down in just three hits!
3. Finisher: Once you've dealt enough damage, the Boogeyman will drop and take a knee, emitting a damaging pulse wave. Your objective now is to run up to him and TAKE his weapon. This triggers a cutscene and ends the fight.

• You should unlock the 'Broken Cycle' bronze trophy after this fight.
• You will obtain the [BOAT KEY].

After the Boogeyman fight and the subsequent scenes, you'll have the [BOAT KEY]. Now, head towards the crack in the wall on the left. This path leads into some sewers. Follow them through the dark cloud (which just signifies a long journey) and you'll emerge back into Silent Hill. This wraps up this section!

Navigating Back to Chastain Heights:

Once you're back in Silent Hill, check your map. You're north of where you've been before, in an area called Pleasant River. Before we push forward, let's get you oriented and figure out how to get back to Chastain Heights, which we'll need later.

1. From the sewer exit, take a right and head up the road.
2. At the intersection, take the right road, which is Brite Street.
3. You'll see a park-like area on your right. It's worth exploring! You can find a [FIRST AID KIT] in a corner, plus [PISTOL BULLETS] and [SHOTGUN SHELLS] under a tree.
4. Head back to Brite Street and continue to the right until you find an alley.
5. Memorize this alley! It's the one that leads back to Chastain Heights.
6. Inside the alley, the path to the left loops back to Brite Street. Going straight leads to a barrel with a trinket stand. Beyond that, in a grassy area, is another [FIRST AID KIT]. You might also find a spare forensic flashlight nearby.
7. Now that you know the way back, return to Brite Street.
8. Check out the southern obstacle on Brite Street and note the fire poker stuck in it.
