    The House on the Lake: Enter the film. Head right down the street, then enter the second house. Go through the door on the left to find a wooden crank (note its location). Enter the next door to find the number "9". Exit the film.

    The Silent Children: Enter the film. Head south to find the number "24" on the wall. Note the box that requires an item but cannot be interacted with yet. Exit the film.

    The Secret of the Attic: Enter the film. Head right, then north to the inner part of the attic. You'll find a locked trunk and an objective: "Open the attic trunk." Note the bloody "1" on the window. Exit the film.

    Combine Films: Return to the projector and collect all three films. Use the codepad nearby and enter the numbers "9241". Interact with the movie splicer to obtain the [SPLICED REEL].

    The Secret of the Child at the Lake: Put the Spliced Reel into the projector and enter the film.

    Collect Items: Grab the [WOOD CRANK] from the room on the left. Proceed through the north door and the subsequent door. Use the crank on the jack-in-the-box on the right to get the jack-in-the-box to emerge. Take the [KEY] from the doll.

    Open the Trunk: Go south to the area with the numbers. Climb the ladder to reach the third film area. Head to the trunk and use the key to open it.

    Defeat Enemies: A Screamer will appear; defeat it. Loot the trunk for the [GOLDEN GUN] and [PISTOL BULLETS] x2. You will encounter a Weeping Bat and a Minion enemy as you progress through the film area. Exit the film to complete this sidequest.

    Proceed to St. Maria's: Exit the theater. Head to St. Maria's via the winding road to the east.

    Find Court Ruling: To the north of St. Maria's, search the ground east of the fountain for the [COURT RULING] paper.

Notes:

  • You will receive the 'Cutting Room Floor' bronze trophy after completing the events in the Movie Theater.
  • Do not focus on the Paintings side quest this early; it can only be completed after the Monastery.
  • Bringing an axe to St. Maria's may make the beginning easier.
