In the boarding area of Rockbelter Mine Station, you'll find three chests: two on the lower level and one at the top of the escalator. Proceed through the door at the east end and head north into the mine. A Transporter near the entrance allows you to save your game. Continue north to trigger a scene, then use your Mine ID Card to access the mine.

Enemies here may drop the Alluring Lamp, useful for teaching party members abilities like Jaster's _Attack Up Lv1_, Kisala's _Dagger Slash Lv2_ and _Angel's Kiss Lv2_, and Deego's _Attack Up Lv1_ and _Bone Shield_. You'll eventually need 14 Alluring Lamps, so try to collect several from Molemen and Volcanoes now.

Use the area map to collect items in the 1st Strata, then take the east elevator down to the 2nd Strata.

A miner on the bridge over the middle dead-end path sells recovery items and gemstones. Save your game at the Transporter near the southernmost path, then take the elevator down to the Excavation Site.

Rockbelter Mine: Excavation Site

Grab the Electric Eel from the chest outside the elevator. Follow the path to trigger a scene and a boss battle.

The Early Model Drill Rig has three parts. Destroy both Hands before attacking the Main Rig. Set Team Commands to "Pick Same Target" and focus on disabling one Hand at a time. Jaster's _Illusion Sword_ is effective against the Main Rig, as is Deego's _Bone Shield_ for damage reduction.

After destroying the rig, Gale emerges for a one-on-one battle with Deego.

This is a difficult battle. Focus on guarding with Deego, using healing items when HP drops below half. Attack when Gale pauses to reload or taunt. Use _Top Dog_ and _Bone Shield_ to boost Deego's stats. Axe or cannon attacks, mixed with _Wonder Howls_, are effective. Use healing items if HP drops below half.

After the battle and post-battle scene, explore the Excavation Site.

Chests in the battle chamber contain a Thunder Stone (southeast), an Alluring Lamp, an Ancient Scroll II, and a Lapis Lazuli (north wall). Use the Star Key to open the chest in the west tunnel for Tri-Heal x2.
