Learn how to move, use the map, open doors, and interact with treasure chests and transporters in Rogue Company.
Walkthrough
- 1Use the movement controls to move your character around the field and during battle.
- 2Press a button to reset the camera to face the same direction as you.
- 3Press a button to change to first-person view (first-person view) to see things as your character sees them. Press the button again to return to normal camera view.
- 4When in the field, a minimap (minimap) on the display shows your location and the surrounding area.
- 5Press a button to open an expanded area map. During your initial visit, the area map will only display areas you have explored.
- 6Scroll the area map in any direction with a control.
- 7A yellow star on the map is a Next-Episode Marker indicating where to go to advance the story. If the Marker is blue, the location you need to reach to advance the story may be at a different height.
- 8When the Next-Episode Marker is far away, a red arrow on the area map indicates the general direction you must travel to reach your next objective.
- 9If a door can be opened, an arrow indicator appears above it when you approach. Use a button to open the door and pass through. Some doors are locked and may become open later in the story.
- 10Stand in a Thinking Circle (Thinking Circle) where a "?" appears and press a button to obtain a hint about what is needed to proceed.
- 11Press a button while standing in front of a Treasure Chest to open it. Be careful, as some beasts take the form of Treasure Chests.
- 12Some chests require a specific key, while others may be booby-trapped with Bomb Traps (HP damage), Cursed Traps (lose AP), or Thief's Traps (lose money).
- 13Remove traps by identifying them before opening or using a "Trap Canceller" item.
- 14Pass over a Transporter (Transporter) to activate it, indicated by a blue glow. Outside of battle, this restores HP, AP, and Sub-Weapon energy.
- 15Press a button while standing on an activated Transporter to Save your progress, Teleport to other activated Transporters or the Dorgenark, Exchange Points, or access Item Storage.
- 16Activating all Transporters on a planet reveals missed Treasure Chests on the area map.
- 17In towns, you can recover at Transporters, buy and sell items at shops, and talk to people.
- 18Shops have limited quantities of items, which may restock or add new items as you progress. Items created in the Factory can be bought at certain shops.
- 19Traveling merchants with "Shop" above their heads also allow buying and selling.
- 20Approach a person and press a button to talk. People with colored bubbles above them offer important information.
- 21A blue bubble indicates information about a side quest.
- 22An orange bubble identifies someone who can provide a blueprint for creating an item in the Factory.
- 23The pirate ship, Dorgenark, serves as the party's rallying point and can travel to other parts of the galaxy.
- 24On the Dorgenark's Bridge, press a button at the helm to bring up the Galaxy Map and choose a destination.
- 25The Dorgenark has a Transporter on the bridge and deck for moving between them or teleporting to a planet where it is docked.
- 26Use the Galaxy Map at the Dorgenark's helm to choose new destinations as you progress, though story events may dictate your itinerary.
- 27During story events (Story Events), press a button to pause the game and another button to skip the event, but be aware you might miss important information.

- Activating Transporters not only provides recovery and save options but also helps you find hidden items later.
- Talk to everyone in towns, especially those with colored bubbles, for valuable information and blueprints.
- The Dorgenark is your central hub; utilize its Transporters and the Galaxy Map frequently.
- Consider skipping story events only if you are confident you won't miss crucial plot details.
