Chapter 9 - The Mystery of Eden

Navigate Chapter 9 of Rogue Company's story, 'The Mystery of Eden.' Learn strategies for the Jaster vs. Zegram, Zegram vs. Seed, and Party vs. Seed battles, and prepare for the Beast Seed fight.

Alright, you've collected all three Key Pieces, so it's time to head back to the Dorgenark: Control Room. Get ready, because a whole lot of cutscenes are about to play out. You'll start off seeing Jaster confront Zegram on the deck of the Dorgenark.

Jaster vs. Zegram

After the initial fight scene, you'll take control of Jaster. Here's the deal: Zegram suddenly has insane HP and defense, so you're not actually meant to win this one. Just lock onto Zegram and hold the block button (you know, the one you use to keep him in front of you and block his attacks). For the most part, you can just hang back and stay out of his range. Give it about a minute, and the battle will wrap up, letting the story move on.

Zegram vs. Seed

After that, the scenes continue, and you'll find yourself playing as Zegram in the Great Tablet area on Rosa. You're alone against Seed here, and again, you're not expected to win. Just fight like you have before against Seed – guard and dodge. Survive for about a minute, and another scene will end this fight.

The Party vs. Seed

Next up, Jaster and Kisala join Zegram, and the three of you face Seed together. You still can't win this fight, so don't even try. You've got bigger things to worry about! Just run up to one of the pedestals in the Great Tablet area, and you'll automatically place the Key Piece. Do this for the other two pedestals, and once all three are in place, a scene will end the battle.

Beast Seed Battle

Another long scene plays out, and Seed transforms. Now you have to face him for real. Your party is Jaster, Kisala, and Zegram for this fight. Beast Seed is a big guy, galloping around and attacking with his trident. He can also do a mule kick or call down lightning in a decent area. Your best bet is to keep your distance and use Illusion Sword. Zegram's Drunken Burst ability is super helpful here, as it'll boost your attack power. Just when you start getting the hang of it, the battle will be interrupted by a scene.

After that, the fight continues, but now it's just Jaster against Beast Seed. This part is way more dangerous because if you get a fatal hit, it's Game Over. Keep hammering away with Illusion Sword. You won't have Drunken Burst this time, but you can use a Strength Star to boost Jaster's attack. If you take any damage, immediately use a Max Heal – a second hit could be the end of you.

Once you finally defeat Beast Seed, more lengthy cutscenes will play. When they're done, head down the stairs to the east. This will lead you into the newly discovered Labyrinth, so get ready for what's next!
